Carney found yoga, meditation and Ayurveda through a lengthy journey of chronic illness via a rare and little-understood degenerative joint condition which reached peak manifestation in her early 20s. Through this emotionally arduous process, she re-established her values in the prioritisation of health, rest and living true to one's innate biological clock and unique constitution. Carney is certified in yoga teaching having completed a 200hr Multi-style Yoga Teacher Training with AAYAA Yoga (2020) in Bali, before deepening herself in a series of courses with Shantarasa Yoga Darshana including her 300hr Yoga Teacher Training (2021), a 200hr Yoga Teacher Training resit (2021), Meditation Teacher Training (2022) and two x 70hr Applied Ayurveda courses (2021 – 2023). Carney found a love for Ayurvedic bodywork through her Ayurvedic Facial Therapist Training with Lakshmi Ayurveda (2021) and has immersed herself in the completion of a 10-Day Vipassana Meditation with Dhamma Ujjala (2023) and Hale Pule Ayurveda & Yoga’s Agni Therapy Program (2022), discovering the potentials of intensive experiential self-study. Carney continues to nourish her passion through continued study in a Diploma in Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultation with the Australasian Institute of Ayurvedic Studies and occasional yoga teacher training resits.
