Coming out of your box and into freedom.
So often we set boundaries and restrictions for what we can do or what we can be.
Often we do this unconsciously and it starts very early in our lives.
Maybe because everyone else did the same and we didn't know anything else.
This meditation will help you to melt down those boundaries and restrictions and move into freedom.
Close your eyes and allow yourself to relax.
Take your awareness to your breath and take a couple of deep breaths releasing tension on the out breath.
Then allow the breath to settle down into its natural cycle.
And say to yourself,
I am aware of my in breath.
I am aware of my out breath.
Let the breath roll in and out like waves,
Like the ocean.
Coming and going,
Rising and falling.
I am aware of my in breath.
I am aware of my out breath.
And then place your hands on your heart and feel the breath here.
The gentle movement under your hands.
Relax into this rhythm,
A soothing calm flow.
I am aware of my in breath.
I am aware of my out breath.
Now imagine the boundaries that you have created around you in your life.
You can visualize it as a box or a container of some kind.
And you are sitting in this box or container.
You have shrunk to fit in here.
You have created a life for yourself in this limited space.
Most of the time you feel safe here.
But the safety comes at a price and you long for freedom.
The space is simply too small and restricting.
You look around to see what the walls are made of.
What do you find in those walls?
What type of restrictions are there?
What is it that stops you from breaking free from your confined space?
Try to come up with one or several words that describe this.
For example fear,
Worry,
Self doubt,
Sadness,
Pain or anything else.
What are those walls built of?
And how do they look and feel?
And are they high or low,
Thick or thin?
Now come back to the breath.
I am aware of my in breath.
I am aware of my out breath.
And feel now how you are opening your heart.
The box sits in your heart.
And you are now starting to open it.
And you are also opening the boundaries of your body.
Feeling your surroundings and the energy flowing between your heart and your surroundings.
When you encounter the hardness of your box,
How do you feel?
What comes up for you?
How are you doing in there?
Now create some space around your hardness,
Your shell,
Your box.
And see this space as a soft flowing,
Warm energy that surrounds your box.
Feel the softness.
And feel how the warmth is starting to melt the hardness,
The cold.
Melting the walls,
The fear,
The resistance.
Let yourself be loved.
Let kindness and gentleness flow right into your heart and fill it to the brim.
Open your heart and your whole body to experience love.
Let yourself be loved.
See the walls of the container crumble and fall down.
Melting away.
And all that is left is warmth and softness.
And the breath flowing in and out.
You are no longer restricted in your expression or in any other way.
You can move forward on the waves of love,
Kindness and gentleness.
And take a deep breath and breathe out and just let go.
You have come out of your box and into freedom.
And slowly come back into the room.
And take a moment to just observe how you're feeling.
And bring the sense of freedom into your day.
