I was going to live on this little community in Australia.
And I was driving down.
I was running late.
I was really nervous.
Oh,
I'm going to be late.
I'm going to make a really bad first impression.
And I was feeling so much anxiety.
And then at one point,
As I was driving,
I just heard this voice in my head say,
Hey man,
It's okay.
Everything's going to be fine.
Everything is perfect.
And I felt this wave of deep okayness wash over me.
And I arrived at the community and as always,
Everything was totally okay.
And a few weeks went by and I was in a yoga class.
And at the end of the yoga class,
We went into Shavasana,
State of deep relaxation.
And the second I got into Shavasana,
It was like my mind was teleported back to that moment two weeks before.
And I was sitting and observing myself driving in that car on my way to the community.
And I was just observing right above,
Like I was watching a movie.
And I could see myself a few weeks before anxious and nervous.
And I just whispered,
Hey man,
It's going to be okay.
Everything works out perfectly.
I see how it happens.
It's okay.
And then I felt that same rush of deep okayness come over me.
And in that moment,
I was like,
Whoa,
I just time traveled.
I'm pretty sure that was me.
That the voice inside my head two weeks ago was right now in this yoga class.
It's a really powerful moment.
And it helped me start to see how we can really check in with our past and future selves for clarity and for guidance,
Because ultimately you are your best guide.
You've seen your life.
You've been part of your life.
You're the expert in you.
So today's meditation will be exploring that.
We'll connect in with a past self and potentially a future self for clarity and love and reassurance so that we can let go of any stories that may still be around from the past.
Still might be held onto in the body.
So let's roll the shoulders back and sit up tall.
The spine elongates like a pillar of light connecting heaven and earth.
We humans are the connection between heaven and earth.
The breath flows naturally and rhythmically.
We can start today with some breath work,
Some pranayama.
You're always free to do your own practice or if you'd like you can join me.
Today we'll be exploring alternate nostril breathing,
Nadi shodhana or anulombalom.
We'll use our right hand to curl the first two fingers in so that our thumb is out and our ring and pinky finger are out making like a Y.
We bring the hand to the nose and we plug the left side of the nose with the ring and pinky finger and leave the right side open and we take a deep inhale through the right side.
At the top of the inhale we hold,
Close the right and exhale through the left.
We inhale through the left.
At the top of the inhale hold,
Plug the left,
Exhale right.
Inhale right,
Switch,
Exhale left.
Inhale left,
Exhale right.
Continue on your own breath,
On your own count.
If either one of your nostrils is clogged or plugged then you can just keep your hands down and as you inhale through one nostril you can close that fist.
When you exhale through the other nostril you can close that fist signifying which nostril you're connecting with.
And noticing the subtleties that arise within this breath.
As if someone detonated a bomb within you of deep serenity.
This explosion of deep okayness.
Everywhere.
How much deeper can you go?
The next three breaths will come to a conclusion.
And we'll sit in a silent awareness resting in the oasis that we've created.
And I want you now to imagine going back to a time in your life when you were young.
A time where you were scared.
Maybe you were a little kid and you did something and you were afraid your parents would find out.
Maybe you were two or three years old,
Maybe ten years old.
Coming back to this little person in the space in the moment that they were feeling this emotion.
Just sitting with them.
Just observing.
Fully present with them.
And as you start to breathe deeper,
You recognize that their fear starts to soften,
Their face starts to soften.
Just by being in your presence.
You give them a warm smile.
Perhaps they run and give you a hug.
Can whisper into their ear that everything will be okay.
I know you're scared,
But it'll be okay.
And let them know that I will always be here for you.
I'm always here for you.
It's okay to make mistakes.
It's okay to be scared.
But you're safe.
You're safe now.
And we'll make it through this.
We always make it through.
Taking another moment with this little person.
Allowing them to fully release.
Whether that's crying or just resting in your arms.
A deep peacefulness washes over both of you.
You smile at them and give one more little squeeze or bow.
Let them know you'll always be around.
Just call me.
And we flicker back to the present moment.
Back to our body.
The same pillar of light expanding through our spinal column.
This unwavering sense of okayness below the surface.
And in the blink of an eye,
A version of us from the future comes and sits across from us.
And this version is any time in the future where they're certain that everything is okay.
That whatever turmoil in our life is happening now,
It's over.
Whether that's a week or a year or five years.
They just smile at you and breathe deeply.
You can feel whatever fear or tension that resides within you just fades.
You can give them a hug.
And they smile and let you know,
I know that things might be challenging right now.
I know things are going on.
But don't worry,
I got you.
I'm designing all of this for you.
It's all for you.
Don't forget that.
I've seen it all and I've made these obstacles perfectly for you to grow.
As long as you remember that you'll grow.
And even if you don't remember that you're still gonna grow.
We'll get through this,
I promise.
We get through everything.
It's okay to be scared.
It's okay to feel whatever you're feeling.
Just know that it'll pass.
Everything passes.
Whenever you need me,
I'm just one call away.
I'm always here for you.
Always guiding you.
You take one more moment to just rest.
Feeling the presence.
Feeling your togetherness.
And sending them back to their timeline with strong and stable gratitude.
Thank you for seeing me.
Thank you for letting me be seen.
We arrive back to the present moment.
A soft arrival back into the body.
This body is a safe space.
A resting place for our soul for this lifetime.
We'll take a deep inhale and exhale to release the practice.
Deep inhale.
And audibly exhale.
We'll do one more.
Deep inhale.
We are infinite.
We are expansive.
We are everything.
We bring our hands to heart center and bow.
To the expansiveness of this universe and stepping outside space and time.
Just for a few moments.
The enlightened in me sees and honors the entire timelines of each and every one of you.
Don't get lost in the future.
Don't get lost in the past.
Don't get lost in the present.
Be wherever you are.
Fully.
Namaste.
Namaste.
