Hello,
This is Sarah from phoenixflames.
Org,
Coming to you from the edge of the beautiful Peak District National Park in England,
UK.
This meditation of the healing waters blends the comfort of a familiar natural location or favourite place of relaxation with a visualisation of healing,
In order to calm the body and mind through the parasympathetic nervous system.
For some background,
I caught Covid in March 2020 in the first wave,
And then subsequently developed what is known as Long Covid.
Over the course of my long Covid journey,
I experienced extreme fatigue,
Pain all over my body,
And so many other issues,
And I collected diagnoses like candy,
Such as ME,
CFS,
Fibromyalgia,
POTS,
I could go on.
Fortunately,
I am now fully recovered,
And so I have created meditations such as this to help share with others what helped me most along my own healing journey.
So,
Let's get comfortable and we will begin.
You can either sit upright or lie down.
The important thing is that you have a straight spine and are relaxed.
So,
Gently close your eyes and take a few deep breaths and let it out very slowly.
Breathe in and really slowly,
And we will arrive in this space to begin.
I'm going to start with a short body scan.
So,
When I make a comment to focus on one part of your body,
Please do so without any analysis.
Just neutrally observe each place I mentioned in the body.
Starting in the right foot,
Right big toe,
Second toe,
Third toe,
Fourth toe,
Fifth toe,
Right sole of the foot,
Top of the foot,
Right ankle,
Right calf,
Right knee,
Right thigh,
Right hip,
Right side torso,
Right armpit,
Right shoulder,
Right upper arm,
Elbow,
Lower arm,
Wrist,
Right palm of the hand,
Right thumb,
Second finger,
Third finger,
Fourth finger,
And fifth finger.
One deep breath and as you exhale,
Deeply relaxing the whole right side of the body.
Left foot,
Left big toe,
Second toe,
Third toe,
Fourth toe,
Fifth toe,
Right top of the foot,
Left top of the foot,
Left sole of the foot,
Left ankle,
Left calf,
Left knee,
Thigh,
Hip joint,
Left side of the torso,
Left armpit,
Left shoulder,
Left upper arm,
Elbow,
Lower arm,
Wrist,
Left palm of the hand,
Left thumb,
Second finger,
Third finger,
Fourth finger,
Fifth finger.
Take one deep breath in and as you release,
Deeply relaxing the whole left side of your body.
Next focus on your head,
Focus on the scalp of your head,
Your forehead,
Left temple,
Right temple,
Left behind the eye,
Right behind the eye,
Left cheek,
Right cheek,
Whole jaw and chin,
The whole neck,
Left shoulder,
Right shoulder,
The whole length down your back.
Take a deep breath in,
As you release,
Deeply relaxing your head,
Neck,
Shoulders and back completely.
Next I'll explain a countdown,
We'll count down from ten to one and as we count down you will become deeper and deeper relaxed.
Ten,
Nine,
Eight,
Seven,
Deeply relaxed,
Six,
Seven,
Eight,
Four,
Three,
Two and one.
Now you're in this deeply relaxed state,
Try to visualise your favourite water location,
By this I mean it could be a beach,
A riverside,
A lake,
It could even be your favourite swimming pool.
Just try and visualise a body of water that you've enjoyed being at.
Imagine you're sitting next to this body of water,
What does the ground feel like underneath you?
Can you hear any sounds?
Maybe the sound of trickling water,
Possibly bird sock?
What does the surroundings look like?
Are there any clouds in the sky or is it a clear blue sky day?
What does this location smell or taste like?
Try and bring all your senses in to inhabit this space.
When you're ready,
You're going to get up and walk towards the body of water,
You can crouch by it,
Place one hand into the water,
It feels so soothing,
Perfect temperature,
The water's glistening and sparkling in the light,
It's very inviting.
Gradually,
You're going to slowly submerge yourself into this water,
Feel the water coming up all around your body,
Encloking you in a supportive embrace,
It feels wonderful.
As you submerge yourself into this water,
You notice that all your symptoms of discomfort,
Disease,
Pain,
Are all melting away.
The water is healing,
The water heals every issue that you may have experienced and you find yourself in a fully healthy body.
What does that feel like?
In your happiness,
You float in the water,
You swim and play in the water.
Enjoy that feeling now.
Really visualise and feel what complete health and healing feels like to you.
You finish swimming in the water and you slowly,
Carefully get out of the body of water,
Thanking it for its unique healing properties and support.
As you're back on dry land,
You realise that the healing properties haven't gone away and you find yourself in a fully healed state.
What would you do in this state?
Would you dance?
Would you sing?
Take a minute now to fully embody what a healed body would feel like to you.
What you would do.
Really experience the emotions that come up in this experience.
Okay,
Now look back around you,
Back to the healing body of water.
And realise that whenever you need to feel this way,
You can return.
Now it's time to look back into your body.
I'm going to count up from one to ten and as I reach ten,
You'll come back further and further,
Alert.
Two,
Three,
Four,
Wriggle your fingers and toes,
Five,
Six,
Seven,
Feel your body supported in your chair,
Eight,
Nine,
Slowly start to open your eyes gently,
Ten,
You're fully back in this space.
