Hello,
This is Sarah Evans,
Coming to you today from the edge of the beautiful Peak District National Park in England,
UK.
This positive affirmations practice is specifically designed for those with chronic conditions,
Working to calm the mind and body through the parasympathetic nervous system.
This is not in any way a toxic or false positivity meditation,
But I do believe there is hope in every state and that healing is possible even for those with long-term chronic health conditions,
And affirmations such as these can work to strengthen your body and mind's own belief in healing.
For some background,
I caught Covid in March 2020 in the first wave,
And then subsequently developed what is known as Long Covid.
Over the course of my Long Covid journey,
I experienced extreme fatigue,
Pain all over my body,
And so many other health conditions.
I collected diuresis like candy,
Such as ME,
CFS,
Fibromyalgia,
POTS,
Etc.
Fortunately,
I am now fully recovered,
And so I have created meditations such as this to help share with others what helped me the most on my own healing journey.
I really took time to adapt basic affirmations to those that are useful if you have a chronic illness.
I couldn't think of anything worse than repeating to myself that your health condition does not exist.
I fully acknowledge your health conditions in all their manifestations.
I see you.
But science has shown that negative thoughts can literally trigger inflammation in the body and put your sympathetic system into fight or flight.
I intend for these meditations to put your body into a calm and parasympathetic state in order to rest and digest,
Ultimately allowing your body to go into a healing and recovering state.
Stressful or negative thoughts can be self-fulfilling,
And so whilst I acknowledge that those long-term health conditions can indeed be incredibly stressful and can lead you to downward spirals of negativity,
The negative thoughts do not serve you.
Please learn to try and let go of the negative and instead focus on your positive healing journey.
I believe you can recover to a higher state of wellness than where you are today.
I also believe that you can be at peace with your body's current condition of wellness.
So let's get into a comfortable position,
Either sitting or lying down,
And close your eyes.
Take a few deep breaths,
And as you exhale,
Try and lengthen the length of your exhales.
Relax your jaw.
Make sure that your shoulders are relaxed.
Relax your belly.
Relax your arm muscles and your leg muscles.
Let's begin.
I know that every day,
In every way,
My body is healing.
I accept that my healing has major importance in my life.
I accept that healing takes time.
I accept and try not to be frustrated with perceived timelines of my healing.
I accept where my body is right now in its healing journey.
I accept that my body is constantly working on its healing.
I accept that I am healing within while I am asleep or awake.
The illness lives in me,
But it isn't who I am.
I am not my illnesses.
My illness or health conditions do not define me.
I choose to not let my health status define me.
I am the same person I was before my illness.
I am more than my current health condition.
I embrace radical rest when my body tells me to do so.
I let my body rest and digest.
I give my body the best chance it can have to heal.
There is nothing wrong with my body.
My body is perfect,
Just as it is.
There is nothing wrong with me.
In my mind,
I remain completely free.
Today,
I am at peace with my pain.
The pain or discomfort in my body does not define me.
The pain or discomfort in my body is manageable.
The pain or discomfort in my body is reducible.
I am not limited by any pain,
Be it mental,
Physical,
Or emotional.
The discomfort in my body does not control me.
I do positive things each week to help my body reduce pain.
Today,
I am at peace with my pain or discomfort.
I am resilient.
I am strong.
I am capable of full and complete recovery.
I have all the capacities needed to manage a health condition.
I make positive decisions to put my body into a state of ease.
I make decisions for the health and well-being of myself.
I make decisions for the health and well-being of my future self.
I have the power to be who I want to be.
I can choose my own happiness.
I know I have control over my body.
My health conditions do not limit me.
I channel positive thoughts about healing and restoration every single day.
I am committed to ensuring improvement in my health every day.
I release toxicity of my health condition with every out-breath.
Every part of my body is ready to let go of illness and pain.
I am grateful for my body and its ability to heal.
I am grateful for the perspective this experience has brought to my life.
I am grateful for all this healing journey has brought to my life.
I am grateful to see who truly supports me when times get tough.
I am grateful for others around me who have supported me through this,
Whether family friends or perfect strangers.
I am grateful for everything I have in my life.
Every part of my body radiates with life,
Fertility,
And energy.
My body is constantly regenerating,
And I do everything in my power to support it.
I eat nourishing meals each day to give my body the nutrients it needs.
I spend time with people who support me,
And whose goodness is contagious.
I harness the power of laughter.
I know the benefits of eating well and exercising,
And I do what I can for my body.
I move my body in the ways I can to build strength and stamina.
Every day,
And in every way,
My body is healing.
Every day,

My body is healing.
My body is going to fully recover in time.
I am committed to ensuring improvement in my health every day.
I release the toxicity of my health conditioning with every out-of-breath.
