From Champignyatta,
I'm Colleen Thomas.
This is Daily Magic for Peace.
Today we will send gratitude for food.
Welcome to the circle.
So the only thing you need today is a bowl of rice or a bowl of any kind of grain or really anything that speaks of food to you.
If you have a snack nearby,
That'll totally work.
I welcome you as we connect together as a circle.
You are joined as you sit here listening to this by everybody and anybody who is listening to this episode at any time.
It's a new way to create a circle and I'm really glad to have you here.
To start off today,
We're going to calm our nervous systems just by doing some simple belly breathing.
So let's start by just noticing how we're breathing right now.
Just notice how deep is your breath without changing anything and experiment with deepening it just a little bit more.
Allowing it to fill your chest a little more fully.
Maybe allowing the breath to flow into your sides a little bit.
Maybe allowing the breath to flow into the back body a little bit.
Experiment with letting the breath just breathe you.
Letting the breath effortlessly come into your lungs and seeing what it feels like to expand that down so that you are breathing into your side body and your back body.
You can feel the breath filling there.
You begin to breathe even deeper now into your belly.
If you feel any tension as you do this,
Back off a little bit.
It needs to be really gentle,
Really calm,
Really loving.
Just play with the idea of breathing into the belly.
Very playfully,
Very easily.
Just kind of let it happen for you.
Thank you for engaging in some belly breathing with me.
And together,
Let's connect down through whatever you are sitting,
Standing,
Or lying on.
Connecting effortlessly down into the earth.
Finding that grounding.
Finding those roots.
Connecting down,
Down,
Down into the planet,
Through the water table,
And the bedrock.
And then drifting back up to settle at the base of the spine at the first chakra.
Noticing today what's happening in your first chakra.
Can you feel your first chakra at the base of the spine?
How does it feel today?
Tight,
Loose,
Warm,
Cool,
Open,
Closed.
Just notice what you notice and see if you might like to release anything you don't need perhaps out of the first chakra.
Maybe anybody else's stuff,
Or any fears,
Or any concerns.
The first chakra is where we can get activated and triggered whenever we're aware of danger,
Or potential lack,
Or anything that has to do with just basic needs.
Basic physical survival.
Some people experience their first chakra getting very activated when they're budgeting,
Or dealing with money,
Or when they are having trouble with eating,
Or there's not enough food,
Or the food source has changed.
These are really,
Really normal responses from this first chakra area.
And we're connecting in today to the first chakra because the intention we'll be gathering with today is around sending gratitude for food.
So if you have that bowl of rice,
Or that bowl of grains,
Or that snack,
I invite you to grab it now.
Have it nearby.
Maybe if it's something you can smell,
Smell it.
Let your digestive system wake up a little bit as you connect with this source of nutrients and energy.
This thing that when you consume it,
It will give its life force to you.
This is an incredible gift you're holding.
So I invite you to hold this food,
This snack,
Wherever your item is today.
Maybe just hold it in your hands and send a blessing to it.
I'd like to share my food blessing with you.
The big old food blessing that I whip out when I really have time.
First,
I send energy and love to the plant spirits and the animal spirits that are represented in this food.
I give my heartfelt gratitude that they are sharing this abundance with me in this moment,
Little old me.
They're giving me this incredible gift.
And then I send my love and my energy and my wishes for peace and harmony to everybody who's brought this food to me.
The clerk in the store,
The packers in the shop,
The farmers on the land,
The people who first went out and planted the seeds,
Somebody who first cultivated this or first came up with this strain of whatever this product is,
Somebody who invented this,
The chefs that made this recipe what it is,
Everybody involved,
Even the marketing people involved,
Right,
With our food.
Sending love and blessings to everybody involved with that food getting into my hands that will go into my body,
That will fuel my body for the next day.
And then I send loving energy to the earth for nurturing everything that she nurtured to get this food to me and to the sun for the energy from the sun that came in directly into this food and the moon for her timing and the whole inner workings of the cosmos that brought this food to me through the amazing synchronicity that is life.
As you can see,
A lot of people can be thanked in a blessing.
And the benefit of this blessing is that when I'm finished with it,
This food has an amazing energy because it is so full of gratitude and love.
And it makes the meal about five times better than it would be if I hadn't taken the time to give a blessing like this.
There are so many ways to be grateful for our food,
So many ways to share food and to be aware of the abundance we have.
So I thank you for being in the circle with me today and giving our gratitude to food.
May it be so.
Thank you so much for being with us today.
Your presence,
Your energy and your heart make all the difference in healing our world.
Remember to breathe today,
Breathe and expand.
And I hope you join us again next time.
Please consider inviting a friend.
That's it for Daily Magic for Peace.
