From Shane Piñata,

I'm Colleen Thomas.

This is Daily Magic for Peace.

Today we will ask water to carry our tears to the river and ask the river to wash away pain.

Welcome to the circle.

I am so glad you are here today.

The only item you need today is a bowl of water.

If you have a glass of water near you,

That will work.

Or you can think about a body of water that's very special to you,

Someplace that maybe you'd like to go and relax.

If you'd like to pause the episode and go get a bowl of water,

Please do that now.

As we settle in today,

I invite you to take your seat in the circle and join us with our shining hearts and our bowls of water as we get ready to do some ritual together.

Our first grounding exercise today will be something called 4-7-8 breathing.

This may be something you're already familiar with.

It's a way of engaging our parasympathetic nervous system,

Our rest and relaxation nervous system.

It's very simple.

We're going to breathe in for four counts,

Hold our breath for seven counts,

And then breathe out for eight counts.

This creates a longer exhalation,

Which activates that parasympathetic nervous system.

Find a comfortable place,

And I will count for you.

So you're going to breathe in,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Hold,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Five,

Six,

Seven.

Breathe out,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Five,

Six,

Seven,

Eight.

In,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Hold,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Five,

Six,

Seven and breathe out,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Five,

Six,

Seven,

Eight.

I'll let you do two more on your own.

Breathing in for four,

Holding for seven,

And breathing out for eight.

Breathing in for four,

Hold for seven,

Hold for seven,

And breathe out for eight.

And I invite you to pause and just notice how your body feels now.

As we go through all of these exercises day to day,

I really invite you to notice ones that work for you,

Ones that you might want to work into your routine.

Now they won't all work for you probably,

So just pick the ones that do.

The next thing we're going to do is establish something called our bubble space.

If you imagine yourself inside of a bubble that extends maybe two or three feet from your body on every side,

This is your bubble space.

And some people call this your aura.

It's basically where the early layers of your energy body exist,

And it's your space.

I like to think of it as your psychic space.

It is a space where you get to decide what happens.

You get to decide the tone,

You get to decide the vibration,

You get to decide the intention,

And you also get to decide the size and shape.

Now sometimes if we're not paying attention to our bubble space,

It can get kind of wonky or kind of divoted or it can just not be very happy and round so I invite you to imagine the shape of a bubble or maybe an egg,

Either one of those will work,

Around your body and then see actually where is your energy body right now.

Is your energy body in a nice round or egg shape or is it kind of not?

And it's totally fine if you can't feel it and it's totally fine if you notice it's not how you want it to be because the amazing thing is that just with your intention,

You can change the shape.

And I invite you to take a breath.

And now I invite you to get your bowl or your cup or your water bottle of water and just hold it in your hands or think of water in your mind's eye.

You might picture being next to that body of water we talked about earlier and just begin to interact with it,

Whatever way feels right,

You might be able to feel it.

Begin to interact with it,

Whatever way feels right,

You might swirl it around in its container or you might imagine the ripples on it in the sunlight,

You might dip your hand in and get in touch with the magic of water,

How much we need water,

How much we love water and how wise,

Believe it or not,

Water is.

Water has a memory and as you touch this water or think of this water,

I invite you to connect a little bit more to your heart.

Let me take a breath and come into your heart space and notice if there's any pain or grieving in your heart space and with so much going on in the world,

So much pain in the world right now within the experience of Russia and Ukraine,

There is just so much pain and however much pain your heart is holding,

I just really,

Really,

Really honor your heart and I'd like to ask this water that we're holding or that we're imagining to carry some of that pain away,

The way that we may cry and the tears may leave our body and we can imagine those tears running down our cheeks,

Maybe running into this bowl of water and being mixed with a river.

I wanna ask this water to carry our tears to the river and ask the river which is this running,

Jumping,

Amazing,

Flowing being,

Ask this river to carry away our pain.

This is not to wish it away or dishonor it in any way,

It's to just give it a place to go.

Emotions need to move.

Emotions are energy in motion and they do best and we are healthiest when emotions are moving.

So I invite the river and I invite water to help the pain move and flow and flow and flow and flow.

And so it is.

I invite you to be very gentle with yourself today.

Remember to breathe today,

Breathe and expand and I hope you join us next time.

Please consider inviting a friend.
