Swami Vidyadhishananda Giri

His Holiness Swami Vidyadhishananda is a highly accomplished siddha monk who reveals to us a Himalayan tradition of Vedic wisdom based on his Sanskrit heritage. He hails from meditation adepts known for their blend of rishi sagely scholarship and nath siddha-yoga practices. A direct disciple of Mahasiddha Tryambaknath (popularly known as Mahavatar Babaji), he also trained inside the Tibetan Sambhala siddha-yoga enclave and was directly blessed with the complete system of Himalayan siddha-kriyayoga. He was formally ordained into the Giri order of monks by the late HH Swami Hariharananda Giri. His goodwill invocation of Sanskrit peace chants opened the 54th UN General Assembly in 1999. He was awarded the degree of Mahāmahopādhyāya (DLitt et Phil) in 2006 by the Association of Indian Universities and Sanskrit scholars of Kolkata for his meditative interpretation and articulation of Sanskrit scriptures. As the head of several institutions, he teaches Sanskrit-based philosophies with exquisite clarity and initiates seekers into Himalayan meditation. He combines insights from Vedānta, Yoga, and Sānkhya, seamlessly merging meditative practice and spiritual philosophy.
