Welcome to this mindfulness session A period of time to come home to yourself To find and invite some ease and rest A shelter from the storm maybe Sometimes it's like that isn't it?
The seas can be rough We can't guarantee a calm ocean But we can guarantee a creative response So maybe mindfulness is the creative response To all of life and its vicissitudes Its beauty and its challenges To live in the flow To say yes to it all So we just pause And just appreciate what's here already Some overwhelm,
Some distraction Lots of thinking A certain mood or feelings A certain patterning maybe Well we just open the door wide and say okay You're here,
You may as well be here It's okay So we just let things settle As we acknowledge We're not trying to force an outcome We're not trying to reject or accept As things settle Sensing the ground under your feet Always available at all times Contact,
Earthing and grounding Sensing these sensations of touch Where the feet meet the ground Through the shoes probably Just noticing what it's like to feel gravity Pulling the body onto the ground Through the chair as well Or if you're laying down as you listen to this recording Wherever there's contact with the earth It's a very respectful and gentle invitation Feeling these sensations of touch Sensing and earthing pressure Resting here Allowing the feet to rest in themselves And perhaps the whole body is emerging as an experience Maybe sensing some clothing here and there on the skin Gently wrapped around your body Keeping you warm,
Cool and safe Sensing in the safety Centring,
Earthing and grounding As the body can sense outwards Noticing the sound of birds perhaps Any other sounds you might hear And this invites a sense of space The body can sense space directly Outwards Beyond the four walls Into your neighbourhood Into these gardens,
These beautiful gardens And up into the blue sky Beyond the tree tops Where the birds soar And the sun shines All the stars,
If it's dark,
Twinkle Into that sea of galaxies Supporting us as we sit here or lay here Grounded,
Spacious,
Aware presence And perhaps just resting in your breathing Breathing briefly Sensing the body breathing from the body's perspective From this grounded sense of yourself And yes,
Thinking may continue We just say yes to it,
Okay,
It's alright And there's space here And there's grounding here,
All is welcome Resting here,
Inviting a calming and a soothing With each in and out breath A comforting and easing Like a deep lake,
Sapphire blue,
Emerald green Diamond clear water Shafts of light from the sun Running through the depths Cool,
Clear waters of being Letting it rest in itself Resting The breathing to rest in itself The space to rest in itself And now taking time Into no agenda whatsoever As we cut loose like a helium balloon Floating up into the big blue together Breathing in and out Breathing out
