A 9 min practice welcoming all the parts of ourselves showing up in this moment, holding the part of us that wants to be well with hand on heart, and opening to a sense of being held by the earth through the points of contact with the ground.

Transcript

Firstly,

Just tuning into that part of us that wants to be well,

And really allowing a sense of welcoming of ourselves here to come from that part.

So the part that wants to be well is the part that got us here and is welcoming in any other parts in the spirit of the radical embrace.

So embracing all that's here.

One way that we can start to connect with the part that wants to be well is to place a hand on the heart.

So the invitation just now,

It doesn't matter which hand,

Just taking a hand and placing it on the heart.

And just moving the hand around,

You just want to do a bit of shifting of location and also how much pressure the body's wanting right now.

So just finding a holding that feels,

You know,

You kind of know when you find it,

It's like,

Oh,

Yeah,

That's right.

And then resting there.

We're just going to hang out here for a minute,

Taking a few breaths.

As we firstly tune into sensations where the hand meets the body.

So maybe there's some tingling in the palm or fingers.

Sense of warmth and pressure.

Feeling the pulsing of the heartbeat maybe.

And anything else that you can sense in the hand and fingers.

And then gently shifting the attention to the place where the hand is touching.

So noticing sensations of being held in the heart center.

Maybe you can feel the sensation of clothing against the skin.

The pressure of the hand and fingers.

And anything else that's here.

Warmth.

Energy.

And we'll just take a little bit of time to notice what's happening in the whole body as we hold ourselves like this.

Particularly in the main emotional centers or energy centers.

Noticing what's happening in the pelvis,

Navel,

Solar plexus,

Heart,

Throat,

And crown.

Noticing sensations and also any thoughts and emotions that might be here just now.

And again,

The invitation is to see what it's like to breathe into these places and really allow them to be here as they are just now.

So however you are arriving in this moment just now is absolutely fine.

If you'd like,

You could take the other hand and place it on your belly.

Some of you might already be doing this quite naturally.

And again,

Just finding where the hand wants to rest here and what kind of pressure feels appropriate.

And breathing.

Feel free to keep the hands on the belly and heart.

Or if your arms are starting to get tired,

You can just rest the hands in the lap.

And then we're just going to spend a few moments here feeling into the contact with the earth.

So just as we were opening to the sensations in the body of being held by the hands,

We can open here to sensations in the whole body as we allow it to be held by the earth.

With each breath inviting a gentle softening into the ground,

Into gravity.

See even the subtlest shifts in the amount of presence that's available just now to what's here.

And any ease or relaxation.

Allowing yourself to open to anything that has the taste of freedom just now.

And then when you're ready,

Gently opening the eyes and just making any movements,

Stretches,

Caresses,

Rubbing that feels good to you as we transition into whatever's next.

Maybe making an intention for yourself to just keep taking care,

Whatever comes next for you.

Feeding it with kindness,

Compassion,

Curiosity.
