Hello little one.
You're having some big feelings at the moment.
That's okay,
Everybody has big feelings sometimes.
Let's start by getting comfortable somewhere.
This might be your bed,
Your favorite chair or couch or a special quiet spot that you have just for you.
Once you're comfy,
Close your eyes gently and we're going to take three big deep breaths together.
First big breath in through your nose,
Make that breath fill your tummy and then blow that breath slowly back out through your mouth.
Again now in through your nose and out through your mouth.
One last time,
Big breath in through your nose and out through your mouth.
Well done,
I bet you're feeling a bit better already just from that.
Now I want you to think about those big feelings you are having.
Perhaps you're feeling sad about something or maybe a bit angry,
Frustrated,
Disappointed or even scared.
Maybe something has happened that has hurt your feelings or maybe you're feeling overwhelmed and anxious.
It's okay to feel these things.
You're allowed to be sad,
Angry,
Anxious or hurt but what is important little one is that we don't stay in those feelings for too long because it is much nicer to feel happy isn't it?
So now that you've thought about those big feelings that you've been having,
I want you to picture them as bubbles and I want you to imagine those bubbles are floating wherever your big feelings are.
Maybe you're feeling scared and you can feel it in your tummy or maybe you're feeling angry in your head.
Perhaps you're feeling hurt in your heart.
Wherever those big feelings are is where your bubbles go.
Can you picture them?
Let's have some quiet time now to imagine those bubbles and what they look like.
They can look however you want them to look.
They might be different colors or different sizes.
Okay little one,
Now that you've spent a little time imagining your bubbles,
We're going to move them on now.
Imagine your bubbles are floating up and up through your body,
Whether they are floating up from your tummy,
Your heart or your head.
They will float all the way up until they float out of the top of your head into the sky.
Watch them float away now,
Taking all your big feelings with them.
They're going up so high and as they float up high,
They're going to pop.
One by one your big feelings bubbles will pop.
Just like that,
All your big feelings have disappeared.
All your bubbles have popped now little one.
Don't you feel so much better?
I hope so.
Can you feel the space around you?
The bed,
Couch or floor underneath you?
Can you hear any noises outside?
When you feel ready,
You can wiggle your toes.
Wiggle,
Wiggle.
And then you can wiggle your fingers.
Wiggle,
Wiggle.
And now you've got a choice.
You can either very slowly and gently open your eyes if you want to or if you don't want to and you'd prefer to keep your eyes closed,
You can.
And maybe you're ready to go to sleep so you can do that.
Goodbye little one.
