Diaphragm Breath,
A breathing exercise led by Tara Herrick-Brown.
Original music composed by Kristin Williams.
This exercise is intended for use within your limits.
It can be a great tool for releasing tension from your body.
However you may feel lightheaded from holding your breath.
Only practice this exercise within your level of comfort.
Begin by taking a deep breath in through the nose and filling your lungs,
Expanding your chest.
Then hold that breath as you push down on your diaphragm and begin expanding your belly.
Then push and push your belly until you can't expand it anymore.
When you feel ready,
You're going to forcefully exhale through your mouth,
Pulling that belly button towards the spine,
Releasing all the old stagnant energy out of the depths of your lungs until you feel completely empty.
You're going to return to a normal breath.
And when you feel ready,
You're going to inhale fully through your nose,
Once again filling your lungs,
Expanding your chest.
And with that held breath,
Push down on the diaphragm and extend that belly as though you're trying to touch the wall across from you.
Expand and extend until you've reached your limit.
Then let it all go.
Exhale through the mouth completely,
Pulling that belly button toward the spine and return once again to a normal breath.
And hold your space and feel your perfection.
