Hello and welcome.
I'm Tara Richards and today's meditation is countdown to calm.
The benefit of the practice is to ground you in the present moment.
So I'll guide you through a sensory countdown from five to one.
First find a comfortable seated position.
Plant your feet on the floor and have your spine upright and tall but not forced.
And just notice how you're feeling right now.
So starting with a number five.
Look around the room or outside wherever you are and take in five things that you can see right now.
Just name them.
Like tree,
Table,
Bird,
Whatever you can see in your environment.
Now close your eyes and name four things that you can hear right now.
Now move your attention to three things that you can feel right now.
And moving on to two things that you can smell right now however subtle that smell is.
And finally open your eyes and take in one thing that you can taste right now.
Whether that's a sip of air or a sip of water.
And taking a deep breath in and out.
And just notice how you're feeling right now in the present moment.
