Namaste,
Today we'll be practicing walking meditation.
Walking meditation invites you to be present with every step.
It grounds you through the simple experience of walking.
And it's perfect before sitting meditation or when it feels hard to just sit still.
So just join me to this walking meditation.
Let's get started.
You may actually walk barefoot,
So you don't need to wear anything.
And you can find a grassland or if not,
Just add your home with a floor.
So just stand first,
Adjust yourself to be stand in the center,
Inhale,
And exhale,
Drop your shoulder down.
Just sense your standing posture from side to side.
You can close your eyes here.
Just sense your weight on the floor.
And then right now you can say in your mind to yourself,
I am standing.
I am standing,
I am standing,
I am standing.
And then when you shift your weight towards the left foot,
You can sense I'm feeling the left feet.
I'm feeling the right feet.
Feeling the left feet,
Feeling the right feet,
Slowly come back to the center,
Draw your shin down towards your collarbone,
Trying to focus your gaze towards 45 degrees in front of you,
Gaze down on the floor.
And then when we're slowly moving our right leg,
So right leg up,
I'm moving my right leg as you walk right foot forward,
Then follow it,
I'm moving my left,
Moving my right,
Moving my left,
And the moment your mind wanders,
You can stop wherever you are and deep inside to yourself,
You can say,
I'm thinking,
I'm thinking,
I'm thinking,
I'm back to,
I'm standing,
I'm standing,
I'm standing,
I'm standing,
And again start walking,
I'm moving my right,
Moving my left foot,
Can simplify it,
Right,
Sense your weight as you move left,
The hands can also be at the back,
Right,
I'm thinking,
I'm thinking,
I'm standing,
Feeling the ground,
I'm standing,
And walk again,
Moving my right,
Moving my left,
Moving my right,
Moving my left,
Whether it's a big step or small,
It's totally up to you,
And at some point you want to turn around,
You just stand at a point,
And then standing,
Standing,
Standing,
Standing,
Standing,
Standing,
Standing,
And when you want to turn,
Just say,
I'm turning,
I'm turning,
I'm turning,
I'm turning,
And again you can begin,
I'm moving my right,
Moving my left foot,
Right foot,
Left foot,
Right foot,
Left foot,
Right foot,
Left foot,
Right foot,
Left foot.
You may continue this practice for as long as you want,
And whenever your mind wanders,
Just make sure you stop,
Observe.
The main purpose of this practice is really to align your movement with what's going on in your mind.
Hope you enjoy this walking meditation.
Namaste.
