This meditation is going to be about orienting to the room and the space you are in.
Let's get started in a comfortable seated position,
Whatever that looks like for you.
Maybe kneeling,
Cross-legged or just simply seated.
If you are sitting on a chair,
You can ground the feet into the floor.
Wherever you are,
Notice the sit bones pressing into the seat beneath you.
Now sitting here,
Just allow yourself to look at the space,
Turning your head right and left.
Noticing colors,
Shapes,
Light,
Sounds.
Using the senses,
Just scanning around the space you are in.
And if it feels okay,
You can fixate on a certain area and object.
Notice the colors,
The shapes,
The light,
The sounds.
Noticing the physical objects within the space.
Now turning the head back to center,
You can slowly begin to close the eyes or lower the gaze.
Now we close the eyes to tune inwards into the body,
Noticing the space we are in by feeling.
Begin to sense the environment around you.
The temperature,
Is it cold,
Is it warm?
How does that temperature land in your body?
What does the temperature make you want to do?
Notice if any parts of the body are cold,
Perhaps numbing or whether it's hot,
Maybe it's sweaty.
Notice where in the body these sensations are happening.
Now notice your environment,
Any sounds,
Specific sounds you can hear.
Maybe it's silence,
Maybe it's chatter,
Maybe it's the sound of a fan.
Just notice,
Paying attention to how subtle the sound is.
Is it loud?
Is it soft?
Is it quiet?
Is it in the background or in the foreground?
Now noticing the movement of your body in space.
Notice yourself in this space.
Notice the movement of your spine,
The movement of your head in this space.
Notice the weight of your body,
Is it leaning forwards or backwards,
Perhaps to the right or to the left?
Realizing that our environment plays a huge role in the way we feel,
Plays a big role in how our breath is,
Plays a role on the thoughts in our head.
And lastly as we wrap up,
I'm going to invite you to bring your awareness to how quiet environments make you feel and how loud environments make you feel.
And just pay attention here,
Noticing the qualities of each environment,
How they relate to your body,
To your emotions,
To your sensations.
Noticing where in the body you are,
Noticing the impact of space and environment and how that has on our body,
On our minds,
On our breath.
The last few moments of this meditation are yours.
I'll invite you to notice whatever comes up as you sit here in your space.
And as you bring awareness to what's coming up,
Notice how your body is feeling,
Notice how the breath feels.
And when the time feels right,
You can gently wiggle the fingertips and the toes,
Stretching the arms and the legs if it feels good for you.
And as you are ready,
You can reorient yourself to the room by slowly blinking the eyes open,
Feeling the light come back into the eyes,
Perhaps fixating on an object.
I will leave you here for today.
Thank you so much for tuning in and listening to this meditation and I wish you a great day ahead.
