Welcome,
In this practice we'll step out of worry and scarcity,
And into gratitude.
Not gratitude as a forced idea,
But as a living experience that already exists in this moment,
Only if we pause long enough to notice it.
So start with a slow,
Steady breath in through the nose,
And a soft release through the mouth.
So again,
In with the breath,
And exhale it out.
Let your body begin to arrive here.
So notice the surface supporting you,
The way gravity holds you gently to the earth.
There's nothing to do,
Just resting here.
So now,
Bring your awareness to your breath,
A simple inhale,
And a simple exhale.
The breath is a gift,
You didn't create it.
You don't have to control it,
It's simply here,
Keeping you alive.
So just pause for a moment,
Feeling the quiet miracle of that.
Now let's explore gratitude step by step.
So start with the body.
Notice your feet,
They're holding you,
They're grounding you.
And then notice your legs,
Carrying you through the world.
Notice your hands,
Capable of holding,
Creating,
And of course connecting.
And notice the heart,
Still beating moment after moment,
Without even asking.
There's so much happening inside of you right now,
Working tirelessly,
Simply to keep you here.
So let yourself whisper inward,
Thank you.
Now bring your attention outward,
Think of the roof over your head,
Or the clothes on your body,
Or the meal that nourished you.
These simple things we overlook every day,
So pause now to feel them fully.
Someone grew the food you ate,
Someone stitched the fabric you're wearing,
And someone built the walls around you.
Now,
You are supported in countless invisible ways.
So breathe into that awareness,
And let gratitude rise.
Next recall someone in your life,
Past or present,
Who has touched you with kindness.
It could be a family member,
A friend,
A teacher,
Even a stranger.
So just picture their face for a moment,
Feel the warmth of their presence in your heart,
And silently offer thank you.
Now expand gratitude even wider,
The sun that rises each morning,
The trees that breathe out oxygen for you,
The earth that holds your steps,
Life itself carrying you in ways you may never understand.
Gratitude is not limited to moments of perfection,
It's available here,
In every ordinary breath,
Every detail of existence.
So take a slow inhale now,
Breathing in gratitude as if it were the very air,
And then exhale,
Letting it radiate out from you into the world.
So again,
Inhale gratitude,
And exhale gratitude.
Feel how your body softens with each round.
So now pause and notice,
How does your heart feel in this moment?
Maybe lighter,
Maybe even softer,
Maybe just a little more open.
Gratitude doesn't erase struggle,
But it transforms how we meet it.
It reminds us that even here,
Even now,
Life is offering us something to hold with wonder.
So take one more deep breath in,
And then slowly exhale.
Let your whole body rest in that.
And as you carry this into your day,
Just remember,
You don't need to wait for something grand to feel grateful.
Gratitude is always here,
Waiting in the small ordinary miracles of the present moment.
Namaste.
