Hello my love and welcome to your meditation practice.
Today just let yourself find whatever position is sounding the most supportive for you and either give yourself some space or let yourself cozy up to whatever is around you,
Whether you are in bed,
On the floor,
The couch or a chair.
However,
Find what feels most supportive and know that if at any moment in this practice the body wants to move,
Let it move.
So as you settle in,
Begin to take some slower and fuller breaths.
Letting the breath soothe whatever is present with you right now and letting it welcome your awareness into the body and your sweet inner world.
Just let yourself land naturally and as peacefully as you possibly can.
Take a moment to just attune to something that is in your space.
Maybe that's a sound,
A smell,
Something that your body is connected with.
Maybe even just the temperature of the space.
You could also even be sensing the energy of the room.
Just connect with something here,
Physically,
In the now.
Letting it be an anchor of awareness in case at any moment in this practice you start to feel swept away in a way that isn't serving,
In a way that's overwhelming.
Let yourself come back to this here and now anchor in your physical space.
Begin to just notice how the breath is moving for you.
You don't need to change it,
It doesn't need to be profound or specific.
Just notice how it's moving and notice how it feels in your body and remembering the breath as an anchor as well.
It is here as a tool for presence,
As an ally and as an anchor.
Trust the breath.
Trust that it knows what to do without you directing it but also know that if it's serving for you to direct it,
That's an option.
Allow yourself to also find a place in the body that feels neutral or really grounded and relaxed.
If that feels difficult to find right now,
That's okay.
But if you can find a neutral,
Grounded,
Physical anchor in the body,
Let your awareness travel there for a moment,
Familiarize yourself with it,
Providing yourself with yet another option to anchor into,
A reminder of where you are in time and space.
If anything takes you away that feels overwhelming or difficult to be with,
There may be a lot that is alive in the body,
The mind and the breath right now,
Maybe none of it feels grounding.
Just know that I am with you and my voice is here to help guide you through whatever is here with you in this moment.
Grief is a mysterious thing.
It can take many different forms and it arrives often in waves,
Coming unexpectedly,
Staying longer than we think or shorter than we think.
It is naturally unpredictable and that is part of its medicine even if that feels difficult to understand or to see.
The most important thing is to not dictate how your grief shows up.
There is no right or wrong way to grieve.
It does not exist on a linear timeline and it is not black and white.
The most honorable thing you can do when it comes to grief is just let it move you.
Let it move through the body,
Through the breath,
Through tears,
Through movement.
If it feels particularly alive right now,
Notice where it is alive in the body.
Notice how it wants to move and just feel what needs to be felt.
You don't need a direction.
You don't need clarity.
You just need to feel.
Because grief does not move linearly and because it is often unpredictable,
You can also trust that whatever wave of it you are feeling now is temporary.
If you need to cry,
You can cry.
If you need to shake,
You can shake.
If you need to roll over into a ball,
If you need to snuggle up,
Let yourself do that.
Let yourself be messy.
Let yourself be exactly where you are.
It is not wrong and you can bear this.
You can be with this.
It is not forever and there is another side.
Grief can actually be a beautiful metaphor for the mystery and the temporariness of life itself.
Just as grief is not linear and is often mysterious,
So is life.
Just as grief's waves are temporary,
So is life.
That doesn't make it easy to be with or to feel,
But perhaps it can bring a sense of acceptance and peace and openness.
Perhaps it can soften your heart just enough to feel the truth of grief.
To feel the truth of life.
Without the darkness,
We would not know light.
Without going to the depths of pain,
We cannot reach the heights of joy.
Loss,
Heartache,
Pain,
Grief,
Death is all a dark backdrop to the illuminescence of life.
The things we experience in our lifetime can be great teachers if we allow them to be and the key is to simply allow.
Not to cognize,
Not to put in boxes,
Not to make it black and white,
But to trust in the weaving of the light and the dark and appreciating the unique fabric of experience it creates.
You are not alone.
There are thousands and thousands of other people in the world feeling grief with you now.
I am with you,
Feeling grief with you now.
It is human,
It is difficult,
And it is beautiful.
Remember that at any moment you can come back to the anchor in your physical space,
In your breath or in your body.
Whatever you are feeling,
Let it be felt.
Allow your breath to weave in and out and through this experience.
Let it be a companion of the present moment,
A companion of trust.
Because grief has no timeline,
Know that you do not have to feel better or be healed in certain amount of time.
Let any expectation like that dissolve.
Trust in your process.
Let the waves move through.
Even if you feel completely shattered right now,
Trust in your ability to slowly,
On your own time,
Bring some of those pieces back together.
Light will shine through.
Wholeness will be found again even if grief is still at your side.
You will weave these pieces of your experience into a greater whole,
Even if you can't see that right now,
You will.
Wherever you are,
However you are,
Give yourself a few deep,
Long,
Soothing breaths.
You can stay exactly as you are for however long you need.
This practice is here to support you whenever you need to just feel and be guided and supported in that.
My heart is with you and I'm sending you so much love.
Thank you for choosing this practice,
For choosing yourself and trusting in your process.
If you're ready,
You can open your eyes and come back into your space.
