Hello and welcome to the session,
I invite you to take a seat or lie down and get yourself comfortable,
You can close down the eyes if you wish and just begin by taking some slow deep breaths in through the nose,
Taking a moment to scan the body and the mind,
Just releasing any surface level tensions that are present,
The intention for our session today is to approach and accept everything that arises with an attitude of compassionate curiosity and calm confidence,
Today we will be practicing intuitive guidance,
This is a process of introspection,
Of inner parts work,
We're going to hold that the body keeps the score,
That things will happen in life,
Things that were overwhelming to our system,
Things that we weren't at the time able to fully process,
Those things will be wanting to communicate,
Wanting to share,
To reconnect and to express,
And perhaps we've been ignoring them,
Afraid of them,
Or unaware of their presence,
So they'll begin to speak up,
We hold that the body keeps the score and that emotions are messages,
These parts of us will try and express themselves through physical sensations,
Through pain,
Through tension,
Through thinking patterns,
So today and over the next few sessions,
We're going to discover these parts,
To connect to them,
To listen,
To get curious,
And perhaps help them to release,
So to begin this process we need to establish a strong and secure base within,
Place your hand upon your heart space,
And just feel the warmth,
The hand upon your heart space,
Turning your attention towards the sensations,
The warmth,
The presence,
Visualizing the heart space as a glowing ball of energy,
Or a flame,
Or a light,
One that goes stronger and brighter with the breath,
Internal family systems,
A psychospiritual model of healing,
Tells us that there is a sense of self,
Or a self,
At our core,
That is untaintable,
Uncorruptible,
It's always there,
If we connect to it,
From or as the self,
We can connect to the parts,
In the presence of the self,
They will help or begin to heal and reintegrate,
This part of us goes by many names,
The heart space,
Intuition,
Wise mind,
The parts connected to the divine,
Flow,
But whatever that place or space is within,
It is here in this moment,
It is now,
So with your hand on your heart space,
Visualizing the heart space as a glowing ball of energy or light,
Growing stronger with the breath,
Just saying into this space,
I am here now,
I am here now,
I am here now,
If at any time you feel lost or overwhelmed,
Return back to the heart space,
Back to the hand,
Back to the warmth,
Back to the words,
I am here now,
And now into this space,
We are going to invite a part to work with,
Part of us that we may have ignored,
A part of us from our past,
A part that is perhaps attempting to communicate with us,
Through tensions or pains or restrictions or injuries in the body,
Allow this part to come into the session and find where it is located in the body,
For this first session we are just going to simply sit,
Simply sit and just be with whatever arises,
From the self,
From the heart space,
Just observing,
Just accepting,
Feeling the sensations in that part of the body,
Not running,
Not pushing away,
Just approaching and accepting what arises,
The compassionate curiosity and calm confidence,
Really feeling the sensations in that part of the body,
Noting the shape,
The texture,
The movement,
Temperature,
But also opening up your mind space a little bit,
Thoughts,
Moods,
Memories,
Visualizations,
In this first session we are not trying to do anything but just connect to this part,
Just reintroducing ourselves to it,
There's no pressure,
No goal,
Just connection,
Really feeling deeply the sensations in that part of the body,
And noting any aspects of the mind that arise,
We are approaching this part with the inner attitude of perhaps a loving inner parent,
Or therapist,
Or guide,
Meeting someone that is wanting to express but is perhaps nervous,
Perhaps confused,
Perhaps scared,
And in this first session we are just going to just be with that part,
Sitting across from it,
Just allowing,
And for the next 10 minutes we are going to sit in silence,
And just connect and allow and witness,
Approaching and accepting it all with compassionate curiosity and calm confidence,
And reminding you that if at any time you feel lost or overwhelmed,
Just return back to the heart space,
Back to the feelings of warmth of the hand upon your skin,
Back to the words,
I am here now,
Back to the breath,
And when you are settled and ready,
Reconnecting to this part,
Feeling the sensations and the aspects of the mind space deeply once more,
So if you'd like to maintain the meditation,
You are more than welcome to do so,
But for everyone else,
We are just going to return return back to ourselves,
Back to the body,
Back to the session,
And back to our day,
Just going to take a moment to offer the part that we've been working with,
Commitment,
Commitment to return in a later session or later on,
That this isn't a once and done kind of thing,
That we,
The self,
The heart space,
Intuition,
Whatever place or space we're calling this,
Is here,
And we'll return we are committed,
This part might have felt alone for years,
Perhaps decades,
So it'll take time,
Time for it to trust us,
And trust the process,
So we make a commitment to return,
And then make sure to do so but for now,
We're just going to gently end the session,
With the promise to return,
