Welcome to the empath's soul.
Just take a moment to settle into your comfy space,
Warm and cozy and just allow your body to soften.
Shoulders down from your ears,
Neck soft,
Your jaw is released.
Gently close your eyes and soften into this very moment.
This is for those of us who feel the world deeply.
If you are someone who senses emotional atmospheres quickly,
Who notices subtle shifts in tone,
Energy or mood,
Who may feel what others are feeling sometimes before they even say a word,
You may recognize something of yourself in the word empath.
Being an empath is not simply about emotion.
It is about a deep sensitivity to the human experience.
It's a quiet awareness of what moves beneath the surface.
It's really a natural ability to feel,
Perceive and understand.
Yet,
When we feel so deeply,
It can be easy to forget to pause,
To return to our own center.
We may spend much of our energy sensing,
Supporting and caring for others and we slowly lose touch with the quiet space within ourselves.
So,
For the next few minutes,
Just allow this to be your gentle space where you can return to yourself.
Nothing to solve,
Nothing to absorb,
Just simply a moment to rest within your own presence.
So,
Before we continue,
Just gently repeat this affirmation silently or out loud.
My sensitivity is a strength.
I honor what I feel.
And I allow myself to return to my own center.
Take a slow breath in and a gentle breath out.
Just allow these words to settle quietly within you.
Now,
Bring your awareness to your breath and allow the breath to move softly through your nose in a natural and unforced rhythm.
Just simply noticing the gentle rise of the inhale and the quiet release of the exhale.
Nothing to change,
Just observing.
And now,
Slowly allow your exhale to become just a little longer than your inhale.
Breathing in,
Softly,
And breathing out slowly.
And again,
Inhale,
Calm and steady,
Exhale,
Longer,
Releasing.
Continue in your own time and with each out breath,
Just allow any emotional residue which may have gathered through the day to just gently soften and drift away.
Not because it was wrong to feel it,
But because it was never yours to carry alone.
Now,
Breathe in and slowly breathe out,
Allowing your shoulders to drop even more.
Allow your chest to soften,
Breathing in and breathing out.
It's like a quiet tide washing through your body.
And if you notice any emotions or thoughts or sensations passing through,
Just simply acknowledge them gently and allow them to move on with your next breath.
You do not have to hold everything.
And just resume your natural breath now.
Good.
So,
Just let's bring your awareness to your face.
Empaths,
They often hold subtle tension here as you listen,
Observe,
And sense the world around you.
So,
Begin with your forehead and just allow your brow to soften as though the skin across the forehead is smoothing like calm water.
Let the muscles between your eyebrows release and just bring awareness to your temples.
These small spaces beside your eyes,
They often carry quiet effort and concentration.
So,
Just allow them to soften as though warmth is spreading gently there.
Now,
The muscles around your eyes,
Just let the eyelids rest comfortably.
And allow all the muscles around your eyes to soften as though your face is slowly exhaling.
Now,
Bring awareness to your jaw.
Let the teeth part slightly.
Allow your tongue to rest softly in your mouth and just feel your jaw releasing any effort it may have been holding.
Finally,
Bring awareness to the space around your ears and the sides of your face.
It's softening here.
It's letting your whole face settle.
There is nothing you need to read,
Nothing you need to interpret.
For these moments,
You are simply resting in your quiet awareness.
Wonderful.
Now,
Let's return to yourself.
So,
Just allow your imagination to gently awaken.
You see yourself walking along a quiet path.
There is no rush here,
Just a slow,
Steady pace.
This path,
It represents the many places your attention travels to each day.
It's the people you care for,
The emotions you notice,
The subtle energies you feel.
As you walk,
You begin to notice something.
Along the path,
There are small glowing lights.
Now,
Each light represents a piece of your attention.
It might be your care,
Your empathy,
All that has been shared throughout the day.
Moments where you listened deeply.
Moments where you sensed someone's struggle.
Moments where your heart quietly opened.
And now,
As you continue walking,
These small lights begin to gently float towards you.
They are not pulled,
They are simply returning.
They are like birds finding their way home at dusk.
One by one,
They drift softly back toward your heart.
It's allowing the energy that you shared today to return to its natural center within you,
Your beautiful heart.
Your awareness gathering back together.
Your energy settling again within your own being.
And now,
You may begin to feel a quiet sense of wholeness.
As though the many pieces of your attention are gently coming home.
So,
Take a moment to rest in this feeling,
A feeling of wholeness,
Of being present,
Of being right here in this moment.
Beautiful.
And as you rest here,
Just reflect on these words.
Returning to yourself is not withdrawal,
It is a quiet remembering of who you truly are.
Now,
Take a slow breath in and a gentle breath out.
Just notice the subtle shift that happens when you allow yourself to pause.
Your sensitivity is not a burden,
It is a deep form of awareness.
It's a way of sensing the richness of human experience.
But,
Like all forms of awareness,
It needs moments of quiet replenishment.
Moments like this,
Where your attention returns to you,
Where your own presence becomes your refuge.
As an empath,
We do not need less feeling,
We simply need spaces where our own soul can rest.
Because,
Beneath everything that you feel for the world,
Your soul is simply asking for you to remember yourself.
So,
As we come to the end of this practice,
Gently repeat this affirmation,
Either silently or out loud,
I can feel deeply and remain rooted within myself.
My awareness is a gift and I honor my own peace.
Wonderful.
Just breathe those words deep into your soul.
Now,
Take another slow breath in and a gentle,
Soft breath out.
Carry this quiet sense of steadiness with you as you continue your morning,
Your day,
Or your evening.
And remember that you are allowed to feel deeply and still remain centered within yourself.
Namaste,
My friend.
