I invite you to take a moment to settle in,

Find a comfortable position and gently close your eyes.

I invite you to breathe deeply and allow your heart to open to the secret path ahead.

In this space,

We explore the teachings of Hayahai,

Rooted in ancestral wisdom,

Guiding us to align our body,

Breath and soul.

In our fast-paced and often overstimulated world,

Hayahai invites us to return to peace.

I invite you to take a breath with me,

Inhale deeply filling your lungs,

And as you exhale,

Let go of the tension of the day.

The purpose of our journey is to find not just calmness,

But a deeper connection to our souls,

Honoring the lineage of our ancestors who understood its sacred importance.

Today,

I invite you to understand the importance of the soul through the lens of our ancestors,

Recognize the inner and outer aspects of our being,

Learn to align the soul for health and spiritual clarity,

And embrace meditation rooted in Filipino indigenous wisdom.

I invite you to take another deep breath,

And as you exhale,

Allow yourself to feel the essence of Hayahai.

Hayahai embodies comfort,

Coziness,

Calm,

And the gentle rhythm of breath.

I invite you now to chant these words with me,

Slowly,

Intentionally.

We're gonna start with Ha.

As you inhale,

Chant Ha.

Take a moment and visualize the breath of love entering your nose and filling your entire body with peace and light.

We will chant Ya.

I invite you to feel this breath continuing as you visualize your soul gently embracing you.

Now you chant.

I invite you to feel it all deeply.

Your breath of life,

Your souls embrace,

And a radiant light from the source enveloping you,

Enveloping the space you are.

And as you rest here,

Allow yourself to glimpse the true light of your usbong.

We will chant together Hai.

At the heart of this practice is animismo,

The belief that all is alive.

I invite you to reflect on your Kalulua,

Your vital life force,

Your soul.

Our ancestors had a sacred understanding.

The soul is our living essence.

The spirit is the divine energy that flows through us,

And the ghost is the echo of those who have departed.

As you breathe,

I invite you to recognize the connection between these aspects and honor life's sacred breath that binds us all.

Our ancestors,

Especially the Babaylans,

Considered as the Filipino shamanism,

Believed our bodies hold seven soul vessels.

I invite you to visualize the energy of each as I name them.

The nose,

The ears,

The mouth,

The arms.

I invite you to imagine each vessel glowing with light.

When one is forgotten,

Our wholeness becomes dim.

Through Hai Yahai,

We restore these vessels with ritual,

Gratitude,

And gentle attention.

Now I invite you to turn inward and feel into your usbong.

Your divine spark is the source of your vitality and inner radiance.

To keep this light alive,

We nurture harmony,

Softness,

And spirit within.

On the other side,

I want you to acknowledge husog,

The soul's misalignment.

It can show up as a subtle pain,

Discomfort,

Or emotional overwhelm.

I invite you to listen to your body and feel and see and reflect on those subtle pains,

Discomfort,

Or emotional overwhelm that you are carrying.

It might also happen that once in our life,

We felt halang na kaluluwa,

That as if our soul was blocked.

This is the absence of empathy when disconnection has taken root.

I invite you to remember healing is both medicine and prevention.

This is the wisdom of Hai Yahai.

As we close,

I invite you to offer gratitude to your breath,

To your soul,

And to our ancestors,

Whose knowing lives in you,

In me,

In us.

When you feel ready,

I invite you to return to your body,

Feel your feet,

Notice your breath,

Gently open your eyes and carry the spirit of Hai Yahai with you as you journey onward.

Thank you.
