Welcome to your sleep sanctuary.
I'm so glad you're here.
Tonight,
There is nothing you need to do.
No one you need to become.
No list to finish.
No task to complete.
You've already done enough.
In this practice,
We'll unhook from the drive to be productive,
Even in rest.
You'll learn to step out of the cycle of overdoing and into the calm presence of simply being.
The benefits of this kind of rest go far beyond sleep.
By softening your nervous system's drive to perform,
You allow your body to enter deep restoration.
You give your heart permission to let go.
You start to reclaim your worth,
Not as a doer,
But as a human being.
Whole,
Even in stillness.
Let's begin by arriving.
Feeling the weight of your body supported.
Feeling gravity doing the work.
There is nothing to manage right now.
No one needs anything from you.
This is your time.
Allow yourself to receive it.
Taking a slow breath in through your nose and a longer breath out through your mouth.
Again,
In through the nose and out through the mouth.
One more time.
In through the nose nice and easy and nice and slow out through the mouth.
Now allowing the breath to return to a natural rhythm.
Feeling the subtle movement of the inhale and the softness of the exhale.
With each breath,
Letting your body feel heavier,
Less alert.
Less available.
Less in charge.
Beginning to whisper gently in your mind,
I get to stop now.
I am allowed to let go.
I don't have to prove anything.
I am already enough.
Now imagine the shape of productivity inside you.
Where does it live in your body?
Is it a tightness in the chest?
A buzzing in the head?
A readiness in the spine?
Whatever you notice,
Just acknowledge it.
There is no need to change it.
Just let it be seen.
And now picturing that drive gently loosening.
Unlatching.
Like a plug being pulled from the wall.
Let that electric current quiet.
Allowing the lights to dim.
Letting everything slow.
You are not your output.
You are not your efficiency.
You are not your calendar.
You are here.
You are breathing.
That is enough.
And allowing these words to wash over you now.
I release the need to do.
I let go of urgency.
I am allowed to rest.
My body knows how to restore itself.
I am valuable even in stillness.
I do not need to earn sleep.
I am safe to stop.
I am stopped.
I am still.
And now we'll begin a breath descent together.
Allow it to carry you even deeper.
Allowing it to unwind the last threads of doing.
So imagine a warm golden mist.
Swirling gently in your heart.
With every inhale it expands just a little.
And with every exhale it softens and settles.
We'll count down from ten.
Allowing each number to bring you closer to surrender.
Inhale.
The golden mist rises.
Exhale.
It settles.
Ten.
Soft inhale.
Long exhale.
Nine.
Let it melt through your chest.
Eight.
Everything fades.
Seven.
You are safe to stop now.
Six.
All is well.
Heavy,
Quiet.
Four.
Held by night.
Stillness all around.
Two.
Two drones.
One.
Slowly fading into the web of life.
As the music continues to paddle you across and beyond.
Into the great beyond.
