Explore MeditationJosé Perez is a lifelong student and teacher dedicated to mindfulness and compassionate living. Based in Satellite Beach, Florida, he has been studying Vipassana meditation for over 10 years and practicing various forms of yoga—spanning Ashtanga, Iyengar, and Kriya—for more than 25 years. His teachings draw deeply from his experiences with his primary mentors, George Mumford, Donald Rothberg, Jack Kornfield, and Tara Brach. Blending wisdom, compassion, and an emphasis on natural awareness. José’s approach weaves together mindful movement, concentration practices, and insight meditation with the intention of creating space between stimulus and response. He invites students to cultivate responses rooted in kindness, joy, and peace. A former educator with a Bachelor of Science in Special Education, he is passionate about sharing mindfulness in ways that meet people where they are. Growing up by the ocean, José has been a surfer since age 12 and continues to find inspiration in the rhythm of the waves. A writer and poet at heart, he often incorporates creative expressions into his teachings, offering moments of connection and reflection. José’s classes provide a welcoming space to explore the luminous nature of being.
