Welcome,
Take a moment to settle in.
If your mind has been hard on you lately,
If self-doubt or criticism have been showing up,
This meditation offers a safe place to pause and breathe.
You don't have to sit in any special way,
Just allow yourself to be here.
Maybe your eyes are closed,
Or maybe they're softly resting somewhere.
Take a slow breath in and let it go.
Nothing to fix right now,
Nothing to figure out,
Just breathing.
Sometimes our minds can be very loud.
They can say things like,
I'm not doing enough,
I'm behind,
I'm not good enough,
I should have this figured out by now.
If thoughts like this are here right now,
Just notice them.
You don't have to fight them,
Just notice.
Not arguing,
Not believing,
Just noticing.
Thoughts can feel very convincing,
But thoughts are not always the truth.
They're often old stories,
And sometimes they're not even our stories,
But stories our minds learned a long time ago.
Stories about worth,
About love,
About being enough.
If you grew up in a place where love felt uncertain or approval felt hard to get,
Your mind may have learned to watch you very closely,
To criticize you,
To push you,
To try to make you better,
Not because you are broken,
But because some part of you learned that being perfect or being better might keep you safe.
That part of your mind was trying to help,
Even if it doesn't feel helpful now.
Right now,
See if you can imagine there's another part of you here.
A steady part,
A wise part,
A part that can see the whole picture.
This part of you knows something important.
You are never meant to earn your worth.
Your worth was never supposed to be a performance.
It was never supposed to depend on productivity or perfection or pleasing everyone around you.
Your worth has always been here,
Quiet,
Steady,
Like a small flame that never went out.
Even when things were hard,
Even when you doubted yourself,
Even when your mind was loud,
That flame stayed.
And the fact that you are here,
Listening,
Reflecting,
Wondering about your life,
Means that flame is still very much alive.
You might feel stuck right now.
Feeling stuck does not mean you are failing.
Sometimes feeling stuck means your system is tired or overwhelmed or trying to understand what truly matters.
It's okay not to have everything figured out.
You do not have to solve your whole life today,
Or this week,
Or even this year.
Right now,
Being here is enough.
Breathing,
Allowing your mind to soften just a little.
If the critical voice shows up again,
See if you can meet it with a small amount of kindness.
You might reply,
Thank you for trying to help,
But I don't need that right now.
Then come back to your breath.
Inhale and exhale.
You are allowed to move slowly in your life.
You are allowed to change your mind.
You are allowed to want things.
You are allowed to grow at your own pace.
Nothing about your timeline makes you less worthy.
Nothing about uncertainty makes you less deserving of care.
Right now,
Let yourself rest here for a moment.
Breathing,
Listening,
Existing.
And if there is even a tiny part of you that hopes for something more in your life,
That small hopeful part is enough.
You don't need a full plan,
Just a little openness,
Just a little curiosity.
For now,
Simply remember this.
You are not the harsh voice in your mind.
You are the one who can hear it.
And that means you are already bigger than it.
Take one more slow breath.
And another.
Allow your shoulders to soften.
Allow your mind to rest.
You are allowed to be exactly where you are.
And from here,
Small things can begin.
And in the future,
Any time you notice that your mind is being hard on you,
Or that self-doubt has made an appearance,
You can come back to this meditation to strengthen your relationship with yourself.
When you are ready,
Gently wiggle your fingers and toes and start to come back into the room around you.
Only open your eyes when you're ready.
