Hi,
I'm Jeremy.
I work in brain and spine surgery,
And this is a different way to begin the day.
Before the noise,
Before the messages and notifications,
Before your mind starts reaching ahead,
We can pause and just be here.
Noticing the room first,
The light,
The temperature,
The surface beneath you.
No need to improve this moment.
We're just letting the system register where you are.
The nervous system likes context.
It wants to know,
Where am I?
What is here?
Am I safe enough to begin?
Let your question stay simple.
Not forever.
Just now.
If you'd like,
Allow a gentle breath through your nose.
And an easy breath out.
Nothing dramatic.
Nothing deep.
Just enough breath to let the body know it doesn't have to start the day defended or braced.
It's a 360 degrees breath.
Expanding out through your sides.
Expanding into your back.
Expanding into your front.
Ease in all directions.
And if you'd like,
Notice your face.
Not scanning.
Bringing to an area that is right there.
You don't have to reach for.
Could be the jaw.
The tongue.
The space around the eyes.
Where's the activity?
Where's their effort?
Is there any more ease available?
Two percent.
Now notice your shoulders.
Are they near your ears?
Is there any room to drop them?
Just a little.
Now your mind.
Are you preparing already?
Are you thinking about what just happened?
The mind thinks speed equals safety.
Here,
We're just noticing.
If it makes sense,
Take in an easy in-breath through your nose.
Start to notice your chest.
And if you'd like,
Place a hand on your chest.
And feel the warmth.
And contact.
Texture.
And just see if there's anything already leaning forward.
Already bracing for something.
It's okay.
We're just noticing.
Setting our baseline for the day.
It may make sense to be there.
It may just be early.
If you'd like,
Let one thing soften.
Just a little.
Just enough to change the message to the system.
One.
Two percent softer in the jaw.
A little more space across the chest.
A 360 degree breath.
With ease.
Small inputs can have clear shifts.
You don't need to be fully calm.
And you don't need to be fully ready.
And you don't have to have it the day figured out.
You can set your signal early.
And now.
One you can stand inside.
One that says,
I can begin here.
I can begin without force.
I can begin without abandoning myself.
And if you'd like,
Take an uneasy in-breath.
And let your exhale extend.
Slightly longer.
Just unhurried.
Not rushed.
You can start with one breath.
One choice.
One unclenched muscle.
One honest beginning.
The day does not start all at once.
So here,
Before the noise,
We can set the signal.
And when you need,
You can return.
