Hi there.
If you've found your way here today,
It might be because things feel hard or heavy,
Or maybe it's just not how you hoped they would be.
So before we do anything else,
I want to say this clearly.
It's okay to have days that are challenging.
You're allowed to feel like this.
Nothing about this moment means that you're failing.
It just means you're human,
And that your body and mind are asking for a little gentleness.
So let's take this slowly.
You don't have to relax,
You don't have to feel better.
You just get to be here,
Exactly as you are.
So let's settle in.
If it feels okay,
Let your body find a position that asks the least of you.
It might be lying down,
Curled up,
Or sitting with support.
Whatever it is that feels most possible.
Taking time to adjust if you need to.
Notice one place where your body is making contact with something solid.
The bed,
The chair,
The floor.
Let that place hold a tiny bit more of your weight.
You don't have to try.
Just let gravity do the work.
Allow yourself to sink,
To soften,
And to be held.
Challenging days often come with sharp edges.
Thoughts that spiral,
Sensations that feel too loud,
Emotions that don't have names.
You might feel confused,
Frustrated,
Or overwhelmed.
So let's soften the edges just a little.
Bring your attention to your exhale.
We're not trying to be deeper or bigger,
Just softer.
As you exhale,
Feeling that word softer.
You might feel it like a quiet sigh that you didn't know you were holding.
Let the breath fall out of you.
Let it be imperfect.
Let it be enough.
Let it be.
Let it be.
Just let it be.
You might notice tension.
You might notice nothing at all.
Both are okay.
You don't need to fix anything.
You don't need to make meaning out of today.
You don't need to turn this into a lesson or a breakthrough.
Let's give ourselves permission that right now,
Your only job is to exist,
Is to be.
And you're already doing that,
Just beautifully.
You're enough,
Exactly as you are.
Sometimes a bad day is your nervous system saying,
I'm overwhelmed.
I'm tired.
I need a moment.
I need safety.
So instead of pushing through,
Continuing on,
Let's offer your body a small signal that's allowed to pause.
Feel the support beneath you.
Feel the way that the ground doesn't ask anything in return.
Feel the way you don't have to hold yourself up alone.
I'm going to invite you now to choose one simple anchor,
Whichever of these feels most accessible to you.
So it might be tuning into the sensation of your hands resting.
It might be the weight of your body sinking into the surface beneath you.
It might be the sound of my voice,
The rhythm of your breath,
Or even a point in the room that your eyes can gently land on.
Let that anchor be your companion.
Not to control your experience,
Just to give you something steady to lean on.
So leaning into that anchor,
Whether it's a sensation,
A sound,
Something you can see,
Your breath.
And if you'd like to,
We can play a little with our breath,
Without feeling like you're forcing anything.
Breathing in a soft inhale,
And if you're able to,
A slightly longer exhale.
You could breathe it out through your lips,
As if you're blowing through a straw,
Or gently fogging up a window.
Warm,
Slow,
Unforced,
As always being gentle with ourselves.
Allowing the breath,
Inviting,
Tuning in.
Does this make me feel calmer,
Softer,
Gentler?
This isn't about calming down,
It's about telling your body you're safe enough for this moment.
Showing ourselves gentleness.
Not forcing,
Gently inviting,
Or allowing.
And let's remind ourselves,
You've made it through every hard day that you've had.
Every challenging day.
Every disappointment.
You've made it through every single one.
Even the ones that you thought you wouldn't.
Even the ones that felt impossible at the time.
And you're making it through this one too.
Not by forcing,
But by giving yourself space.
By allowing your body time.
And by giving yourself consistent cues of safety.
You know that you'll make it through.
You know that things will get better.
That this will pass.
And however you're feeling right now,
It's okay.
So if you're able to,
You might like to gently place your hand over your heart.
Giving yourself this gentle cue of safety.
Allowing yourself to feel held.
To feel supported.
To feel loved.
And meeting ourselves with kindness.
With care.
And reminding ourselves that we are enough.
Staying here for as long as you need to.
And if you've found a position that feels safe.
And comfortable.
I invite you to stay there.
Or if you're ready,
Come back into your space.
Taking your time to wriggle,
Or stretch,
Or yawn.
Anything that feels good to you.
Knowing that there's no rush.
That you can do this at your own pace.
Taking as much time as you need to.
Putting your needs first.
And that's okay.
So take care.
And I'll see you soon.
