Hello and welcome to this very short breathing reset.

We're going to take a couple of minutes for ourselves to settle our breath,

To disconnect from the world and to commit to ourselves even just for a moment.

So making yourself comfortable in whatever way you can,

Maybe lying down,

Seated if you're able or maybe you're standing,

Wherever you are,

Allowing yourself to soften,

Maybe closing your eyes if it's safe to do so,

And we're going to take a few grounded breaths.

Then be starting to breathe into our belly,

Drawing the breath deeper only as is comfortable.

Maybe placing your hand on your belly is helpful if you're able to,

And gently,

Softly,

Gradually to come a little lower and with the breath to slow just a little,

Being guided by your own body,

Going as slow as you need to,

There's no rush,

We're unhurried,

And if you would like to,

We're going to take a couple of candle breaths,

Breathing in through the nose and gently out through the lips,

As if you're gently blowing a candle or blowing through a straw,

But very gently,

Only as far as is comfortable,

And you may notice that your exhale gently starts to extend,

Even just a little,

And you may even wish,

If you're able to,

To add in a soft hum on your exhale,

Breathing in through the nose and gently humming on your exhale,

And you might find that just a couple of hums allows your body to soften,

Relax just a little,

And that even in these couple of minutes,

That you have found a little peace,

A little calm or stillness in your day,

And that whatever you have to go back to,

Whatever's happening next in your day,

That you've taken these few minutes to yourself,

You've come back to your breath,

You've brought a little calm into your day,

And that you can come back to it any time that you need to.

So taking one more breath,

Gently in and out,

And then when you're ready,

Coming back into your space,

And continuing about your day,

Knowing that your breath is always here for you to return to when you need it.

Thank you so much for breathing with me today.
