Lyndsi Burnett

Lyndsi Burnett (LCSW) received her Master's degree in social work at USC, with an emphasis in clinical work for adult mental health. She now enjoys working as a fully licensed therapist in a community mental health outpatient setting. She works with people of all backgrounds and treats the whole gamut of mental health diagnoses, though she is progressively realizing a particular love for treating trauma and anxiety-related disorders. She is passionate about increasing access to tools and resources, including via these mindfulness meditations. Lyndsi believes in the importance of utilizing both cognitive and body-centered treatment approaches. Cognitive approaches are helpful toward developing insight and limiting unnecessary suffering, where practicing mindfulness and somatic techniques help people grow their ability to tolerate distress and process natural emotions. Modalities Lyndsi has been trained in and which heavily influence her work include: ACT, CBT, CBTp, CPT, DBT, MBCBT, MBSR, and somatics.

Earlier today my mother was put on hospice care: Her life is ending. After a morning meeting with her medical team, she tried eating some lunch. But nothing tasted right and she could only take a few swallows. Fading but restless, she needed something to ease her mind. I played this recording for her. Well, I played it for both of us. By the end, I felt reverence and peace, and my mother fell into sleep. Thank you, Lyndsi. Your words and your voice are a treasure. Thank you for this gentle guidance on dealing with pain.
