Welcome.
Tonight we journey together into the infinite.
We'll leave the noise of the day behind and let the stillness of the night carry us into space where we can rest,
Expand and simply be.
This is a practice of surrender,
Of letting go,
Of remembering your connection to the universe.
As you settle in,
Know that you are safe.
Trust the process,
Trust yourself and trust that you are held by something far greater than words can describe.
Let's begin.
Lie down in a comfortable position,
Your arms resting gently by your sides,
Palms facing up.
Feel the weight of your body pressing into the surface beneath you.
The earth is holding you,
Steady and supportive,
So you can let go completely.
Close your eyes and take a deep breath in.
Fill your lungs with the cool,
Calming air of the night.
As you exhale,
Release all the tension you've been carrying.
Let it flow out of you like a gentle stream,
Leaving you lighter and softer with each breath.
Now,
Bring your awareness to the crown of your head.
Imagine a soft silvery light resting there,
Like the glow of the moon.
Feel it melting away,
Any tightness that's in your scalp,
Easing the space around your forehead.
Let your temples soften,
Your eyebrows release.
Let the light flow down to your eyes,
Feel them resting deeply in their sockets,
No longer needing to see or search.
Let the space between your eyes,
The third eye,
Open and soften.
Bring the light to your cheeks,
Your jaw,
Notice if there's any tension there.
Let your jaw hang loose,
Your teeth part slightly,
Let your tongue rest naturally in your mouth.
Now,
Let the light spill down into your neck,
Warming and softening the muscles on both sides.
Feel it flow into your throat,
Clearing and opening the space there.
If there are any words left unspoken from your day,
Let them dissolve now,
Leaving nothing but space and peace.
Now,
Bring your attention to your shoulders,
Notice if you're holding them up,
Even slightly.
Imagine them releasing,
Dropping away from your ears.
Let the light melt down through your shoulders,
Into your upper arms,
Your elbows,
Your forearms,
Your wrists and into each fingertip.
Feel your arms growing heavy and warm,
Fully released and relaxed.
Now,
Bring your focus to your chest,
Feel the gentle rise and fall of your breath,
Like waves across a calm ocean.
Imagine the light spreading across your chest,
Wrapping your heart in its soothing glow.
Let this light dissolve any tightness,
Any heaviness you might feel,
Let your heart rest.
Bring your awareness to your upper back,
To the muscles around your shoulder blades,
Let the light ease them,
Soften them,
As if a gentle hand were brushing tension away.
Feel it flowing down your spine,
Vertebrae by vertebrae,
Like moonlight cascading over a mountain ridge.
Move your attention now to your belly,
Notice how it expands and softens with each breath.
There's nothing to hold here,
No effort,
Just a gentle letting go.
Feel the light pooling in your abdomen,
Warm and steady,
Bringing with it a deep sense of calm.
Let your awareness flow to your lower back,
To the muscles there,
Allow them to loosen,
To release,
As though the earth is drawing away all tension.
Now bring your focus to your hips and your pelvis,
This is the seat of your body's stability,
And yet it often holds so much.
Imagine the light gently loosening this area,
Opening space,
Creating ease.
Let the light travel down your thighs now,
Heavy and soft against the surface beneath you.
Feel it flowing into your knees,
Those intricate joints,
And then into your calves and shins.
Let the light wrap around your legs like a warm,
Cosy blanket.
Finally,
Bring your attention to your feet now,
Feel the arches softening,
The heels releasing,
And the toes spreading gently apart.
Notice how your feet will just carry you through so much,
They are now completely at rest.
Take a moment to feel your entire body now,
From the crown of your head to the tips of your toes.
Your body is heavy,
Relaxed,
And yet there is a lightness,
A spaciousness.
You are resting,
Deeply and fully,
As the soft light of the night sky cradles you.
Now that your body is completely at ease,
Allow your awareness to expand outward.
Imagine that above you,
The night sky begins to open.
A vast expanse of velvet darkness stretches endlessly.
There is no ceiling,
No limit,
Only the soft glow of starlight scattered across the infinite.
The moon rises in the distance,
Luminous and steady.
Its light touches you gently,
Washing over your face,
Your shoulders,
Your chest.
Feel it soothing you,
As it's saying,
You can rest now,
You are safe,
You are enough.
With each breath,
Allow yourself to feel lighter,
As though the pull of gravity is loosening its hold on you.
You are no longer bound to the earth,
You are free.
Feel your awareness rising gently,
Effortlessly,
Into the night sky.
You are floating now,
Cradled by the air,
Surrounded by the quiet hum of the cosmos.
As you rise higher,
Notice the stars around you,
Each one a brilliant point of light,
Ancient and steady.
They have been here for billions and billions of years,
Shining without question,
Without effort.
Allow their light to fill you,
Illuminating every corner of your being.
You are not separate from these stars,
You are made from the same elements,
The same cosmic dust,
The same infinite energy.
Feel that connection,
Feel the stars as part of you,
And you as part of them.
Now,
Let yourself travel further,
Beyond the stars,
Into the vast openness of space.
There is no boundary,
No edge,
Only endless expansion.
Notice the silence here,
It's not empty,
It is alive,
Vibrant,
Full of possibility.
This silence is the same stillness that resides within you.
Let it wrap around you like a warm blanket,
Soothing your mind,
Quieting your thoughts.
You are floating now,
Into the infinite.
Time dissolves,
There is no past,
There is no future,
Only now,
This moment,
This breath.
Feel how spacious it is,
How free.
The light of distant galaxies sparkles around you,
Painting the darkness with soft colours,
Gold,
Violet,
Silver and blue.
You are surrounded by beauty,
By wonder,
And you realise that this is vast,
Infinite universe,
It is not outside of you,
It is within.
You are the universe,
And the universe is you.
Now,
Gently begin to feel yourself returning.
Slowly,
Softly,
Let your awareness drift back to the stars,
To the moonlit sky,
To the gentle pull of the earth below you.
Feel your body again,
The weight of it,
The rise and fall of your breath.
You are still held by the universe,
Still cradled by the stars,
But you are also grounded,
Safe,
Home.
Let the peace of this journey stay with you,
Let the quiet stillness of the cosmos settle into your heart,
And know that you can return to this place,
This infinite space of rest and connection,
Whenever you need to.
There is nothing you need to do now,
Nothing to become,
You are already whole,
You are already enough.
Rest now,
Let sleep take you gently,
Like the night embracing the day.
The universe holds you,
Rest deeply,
Sleep well.
Namaste
