Welcome,
Get comfy and close your eyes,
Bring some softness to your body,
Relaxing your forehead,
Jaw,
Shoulders,
Fingers,
Legs and feet.
Feel a wave of relaxation wash over your whole body as you sink deeper down.
Begin to imagine holding an uninflated balloon in your hands.
Take a moment to notice its colour,
Let it symbolise all of the stress that you want to release.
Feel the texture of the balloon's surface in your hands.
Take a slow deep breath in through your nose,
And as you exhale out of your mouth imagine blowing any physical tension into the balloon.
Continue this process taking more deep breaths and exhaling into the balloon.
Feel the tension leaving your body with each exhale as the balloon grows larger.
Now shift your focus to any emotional tension or discomfort you may be carrying.
Inhale deeply,
And as you exhale allow this negative or stagnant emotion to be released into the balloon.
Feel the emotional stress wash away from you with every breath you take.
Keep taking strong powerful breaths,
Letting your exhales be a release.
Next address any mental clutter,
Negative thought patterns or negative self-talk you want to release.
Inhale deeply,
And as you exhale out of your mouth release them into the balloon too.
Watch as they are effortlessly carried away with your breath,
Allowing the balloon to expand even more.
When you feel ready take one more deep breath in,
Acknowledging anything else you want to release,
Be it a person,
Situation,
Emotion or thought.
Hold your breath at the top.
Exhale fully and completely into the balloon,
Allowing that to be carried away too.
Take a moment to acknowledge the stress that is now contained within this balloon.
See it filled with everything that you've released.
As you tie a knot securely in the balloon,
Hold it up to the sky and choose to let it go.
Watch as the balloon floats higher and higher into the sky,
Becoming smaller and smaller until it disappears completely,
Taking all your physical,
Emotional and mental stress with it.
Take a moment to appreciate the calm that fills the space within you now.
Tune into that sense of relief and lightness.
Inhale deeply,
Exhale fully and when you're ready blink your eyes open and notice the shift in your body and mind.
Carry this sense of peace and lightness with you,
Knowing that you can return to this meditation whenever you want to release any stress.
