Welcome to this meditation for inner joy.
It will be a simple one.
All we will be doing will be smiling to ourselves.
Smiling serves to awaken the feelings of joy,
Happiness,
Bliss and pleasure.
So go ahead and find a comfortable position,
One that will allow you to stay still for the next few minutes.
Once you're settled in,
Gently close down the eyes.
Bring your awareness to your body.
Relax any areas where you're squeezing,
Feeling any kind of discomfort.
Let these parts of your body begin to soften,
Let go and release.
Now shift your focus to your breath.
Take long,
Nourishing inhales.
Long,
Cleansing exhales.
Repeat that for a few moments.
Keeping that gentle,
Soft breathing,
Think of a recent situation that has put a smile on your face.
Let it be absolutely anything.
Invoking this memory,
Allow yourself to bring a smile on your face.
And keep it.
Continue smiling to yourself.
It might seem awkward at first,
But remember,
This is your moment of self-care.
So go on,
Smile.
No one's looking.
Hopefully smiling has provoked for you feelings of bliss,
Joy,
Unconditional happiness,
Pleasure.
Let these feelings circulate throughout your entire being.
Take these feelings and sensations with you as you slowly begin to bring your awareness back to this moment.
Wiggling your toes and fingers,
Taking a deep breath,
Coming into the here and the now.
When you're ready,
Open your eyes.
