It's so easy to feel alone in this fast-paced world, especially when life becomes more difficult. In this meditation, you are invited to surrender and receive the support all around you, both seen and unseen, and experience deep calm, regulation, trust, faith, and increased capacity. With gratitude to mentor Josea Tamira Crossley for her introduction to this concept and to Silencio Music for the background track.

Taking some deep breaths,

Beginning to settle into your space,

Into your body,

Perhaps bringing and exploring in some gentle movement,

Exploring to see if the body can become any more comfortable.

Beginning to observe the breath,

Allowing it to be whatever it is in this moment,

Whether that's deep or shallow,

Fast or slow.

With each breath,

I invite you to allow yourself to surrender more deeply into the pillows or cushions or chair,

Wherever you might find yourself.

Imagining that the chair or bed or floor is rising up to meet you,

To cradle you and support you.

I invite you to use your imagination or perhaps a nearby blanket or pillow or stuffed animal,

Whatever you have handy,

And cradling it to you,

To your chest,

Your core.

And imagining that this object or using your imagination itself,

Allowing it to be your little self,

Whatever is tender in you right now.

Perhaps there are some emotions that you're sitting with or a situation,

Calling to mind whatever is tender and allowing yourself to hold it and noticing that although it may feel overwhelming at times,

It is not you.

You are not it.

You can hold it close to you and offer it support,

Or him or her,

If you're imagining your own little self.

And then inviting in layers of support,

Beginning with those who are most dear to you,

Imagining them coming around you,

Extending their arms,

Perhaps placing a hand on your shoulder,

Your head.

Only those who feel safest and most loving and supportive are welcome.

As you imagine their supportive touch,

Allowing yourself to receive it,

And then extending your imaginative awareness into the natural world,

And inviting all the benevolent creatures and entities,

The flora and fauna that fills nature to come and envelop you in support and love.

Breathing it in,

Imagining it filling your body.

You might see it as a color,

Or feel it as a texture,

Or even a scent or taste.

Breathing it in,

Drinking it in,

Letting it support you.

Then extending to your wise and well bright and benevolent ancestors,

All those who have come before you,

For whom you are the wish come true.

Invite them to come forward and offer their support.

Doesn't matter how many generations you might need to go back,

Doesn't matter if you know them or not,

If they're blood related or not.

Inviting all those wise and well ancestors,

Feeling their arms extend around you.

Then to the keepers of the land on which you find yourself today,

All the indigenous peoples,

All those who have walked where you walk.

Inviting those who wish to be of support to come forward and hold you,

And noticing,

Noticing what this support feels like or looks like,

Smells like.

Extending it to the earth spirits,

Water spirits,

All of the hidden entities that may dwell within the unseen natural world.

Even the elements themselves,

Earth,

Fire,

Air,

Water.

Allowing yourself to receive this additional layer of support.

Surrendering into it.

Then inviting in the support of the cosmos,

The divine,

Whomever,

Whatever spiritual beings may be a part of your belief system.

All those who wish to come forward in support.

Imagine them coming forward and cradling you,

Cradling all the layers that we've called in.

And over the next few breaths,

Allowing yourself to sink into all these layers that we have invited forward.

Expanding into their support and allowing it to nourish you.

As you feel your most supported,

Feel the most nourished and resourced,

Go ahead and snap your fingers or clap your hands,

Pat your thighs to anchor the sensation into your being as a touchstone for future reference.

Feel free to remain here for as long as you desire.

When you are ready,

I invite you to slowly begin to bring your awareness back to your breath,

Back to the sensations of your physical body.

As it feels good to you,

Inviting in some gentle movement.

You are ready to return,

Allowing the eyes to slowly open and beginning to reorient yourself to the space around you.

Blessings.
