Hi there,
This is Cynthia.
Today we are going to use our imaginations to help ourselves feel calm and relaxed.
Are you ready?
You can close your eyes if that feels right.
Maybe you're sitting with your hands on your lap or on your heart.
Sometimes our insides feel kind of uncomfortable when we try new things,
When we go somewhere new or even when we meet new people.
Does this ever happen to you?
Can I tell you a secret?
This happens to me too.
In fact,
It happens to your friends and your family too.
But because it happens inside of their bodies,
You just can't see it.
It's kind of like the wind.
No one can see it,
But everyone can feel it.
Let's calm our bodies and minds together today.
I want you to imagine that you have bubble soap and a bubble blower in your hands.
Hold them up now.
You're going to dip your bubble blower into the soap,
Pull it out and then take a nice big inhale for three seconds and then let out a nice long exhale for six seconds.
And imagine that you are blowing tons of bubbles,
They are going everywhere.
Go ahead and try to pop them now.
Let's do this again.
Dip your bubble blower into the soap,
Take a nice big breath in through your nose and then as you exhale,
Imagining that you are blowing tons of bubbles into the air.
You are feeling calmer and more at peace with every breath that you take.
Let's do one more just like that.
Dipping your bubble blower into the soap,
Inhaling through your nose and letting out a nice long exhale,
Blowing as many bubbles as you can.
Wow,
There are so many bubbles floating through the sky.
How many do you think there are?
They float so peacefully through the wind,
Each popping on their own time.
Keep watching them float and pop.
You notice that your body begins to feel a bit more calm now.
What else do you notice?
In your head or out loud,
You can go ahead and repeat after me.
I am peaceful.
I am relaxed.
I am calm.
I am doing my best.
I am perfect the way that I am.
You did such a wonderful job using your imagination with me today.
Remember,
Anytime you feel worried or uncomfortable in your mind,
You can take some of these bubble breaths just like we practiced today.
Thank you for joining me.
I'll see you next time.
