If the day has been loud or you’ve been carrying more than you realize, this is a short pause to help you settle and re-orient. Nothing to fix. Nothing to achieve. Just five minutes to come back to yourself.

Transcript

Welcome,

Allowing the movement and noise of the day to slow and soften,

Settling into a comfortable seated or lying down position.

Inviting a slower,

Deeper breath.

Settling into here and now,

And letting that slower breath signal to your parasympathetic nervous system that you are safe.

Nothing to fix or change,

Just allowing this moment,

This pause to be whatever it needs to be.

Allowing your attention to briefly scan your body and notice where tension is being held.

And as you breathe in deeply,

Softening the muscles around the neck,

Shoulders,

Jaw.

Allowing attention to just being here and now.

Be with the breath as you breathe in and breathe out.

Perhaps noticing how the body responds to this natural rhythm.

Shoulders rising and falling,

Belly expanding and contracting.

You might bring a gentleness and a kindness to this noticing what's here and now.

You might find the mind labeling things as right or wrong,

But there's no right or wrong way to simply notice life as it unfolds.

If you find the mind is noisy,

Perhaps planning,

Doing,

Off in the future,

You find an opportunity to return to right here or right now.

Each time you find yourself away from the present moment,

You can return.

And so breathing in and arriving,

Breathing out and softening.

Breathing in to this moment,

Breathing out and letting go.

Before we end,

You might invite a sense of gratitude to yourself for taking the time out of your busy day to pause,

Reflect,

And notice life unfolding right now.
