Guided Meditation for Positive Emotions This meditation is for shifting your emotions from negative to positive.
It's a short meditation with an easy process that you can do anytime you want to change your emotional state.
Let's start by closing our eyes and breathing slowly in and out all the way down into the lower belly.
Relax your shoulders,
Allowing them to droop downward.
Relax your body and let it sink into your chair.
Now I'd like you to imagine that you are sitting on a hill overlooking a valley.
It's a foggy day.
As you are sitting here,
Allow yourself to feel the negative emotions that you experience when you are having a bad day.
Notice how these emotions feel in your body.
As you are looking over the valley,
You peer through the fog and you see a landscape coming into focus.
What does the scene look like that represents your negative emotions?
You look up and notice there is a flying creature in the sky above you.
As it comes closer,
You recognize it as a friendly creature who has come to help you.
What kind of creature is it?
What does it look like?
The creature slowly descends and lands on the ground next to you.
You greet it,
Calling it by name.
What is your creature's name?
You climb onto the back of the creature,
And it takes off,
Flying higher and higher,
Until all you can see is the clear blue sky.
You look down and see the foggy valley far below you.
From up here,
You can see the big picture.
Now I'd like you to think of a place where you would like to go.
It can be any place that you can imagine that represents the positive emotions that you want to feel.
Look at the landscape below and see this place coming into focus.
The creature slowly descends and lands on the ground.
You climb down off its back and thank it for the ride.
Take some time now to enjoy being in this new place,
And do whatever you like to do here.

You You You You Now it's time to return home.
When you come back from the meditation,
You may enjoy looking up the symbolic meaning of the things that you saw,
The flying creature,
Its name,
And the places or other objects that appeared.
These things may have a special meaning for your unconscious mind.
Now take a deep breath and feel your body in your chair.
When you are ready,
Slowly open your eyes.
Stretch and come back to the present moment.
