Welcome to Enhancing Recovery,
A multidimensional sobriety education program.
My name is Lynn Brown.
I'm a counselor and educator.
I developed this program for all those who are sober and interested in maintaining long-term sobriety by addressing the psychological and social aspects of healing and growth.
Each topic consists of a lecture and homework,
So be sure to have paper and pencil available as you participate.
Take time to do the homework.
This is your life,
Your future,
So it matters.
You may want to keep all of your homework in a notebook,
So you'll have it as a reference if needed.
Let's get started.
The four dimensions of recovery.
Recovery cannot exist in isolation.
For recovery to be sustained,
It must function within a life framework.
Here are the four dimensions.
Health – striving to live in ways that support both emotional and physical health.
What are the areas of your emotional and physical health that you feel are important to take a look at and deal with in order to help assure success?
Home – having a safe,
Sober,
And stable place to live.
In what ways have you already made sure to have a safe,
Sober,
And stable place to live?
What else could you choose to do to help assure that you will continue to have a healthy home?
Purpose – having meaning to your daily life.
What meaning to your life have you already recognized?
Are you currently living out your purpose?
If you haven't already determined the meaning to your life,
Now is the time to give this serious thought.
Community – having a social network of friends and or family around you with whom you regularly interact and feel are available to you.
Who is currently in your life and do you feel they are serving as part of your community?
