Hard subject to acknowledge but it is needed so you can move on. Sometimes a loss can occur that is seen and felt by others as well as yourself but then other losses come up to the surface while grieving. 🙏🏻

Thank You for expressing this issue. I tend to not recognize the grief others hold and that does not diminish their hurt. I will strive to be more compassionate and understanding of others and the struggles we all encounter.

This brief video talk came to me at the perfect time! I was finally just validating myself for being assertive and drawing boundaries, even when it clearly disappinted others, and may have cost me a relationship. I appreciate the introspection and the bottom line being that we cannot afford to put others' comfort first while we leave ourselves behind. People pleasing has become a disease to me. Like of a parasitic nature. I need to learn how to be assertive with greater compassion and grace, though. Practice and mindfulness should help a lot. That, and intention. I am so glad for videos like this one, and teachers like you for sharing what you've learned through being a mindful human! I'm going to listen to this one a few more times in the next few days. Drive that message home! Thank you for this! Namasté!

Thank you very much for this Megan. I hadn’t related my strong feelings of shame to trauma so this was enlightening. Timely for me - just as I think i’m making some progress, something happens and I freeze. Then I feel total shame for not being able to handle things. I then want to retreat from the world!

Dr Megan, thank you for this information snd compassion in your voice! I was able to recognise these disenfranchised emotions and losses in my life- and it makes such a difference. 🙏🏽🫂💖✨️

Disenfranchised loss is not acknowledged & can lead to us dismissing our own grief. But it matters deeply.... health, friendship, work, colleagues, a group, an attachment, a pregnancy etc these things deeply matter & we grieve, often alone & unrecognised. It felt extremely validating to hear lots of community spoken about in this way. This is a tiny & hugely valuable meditation. Thank you 🙏

Very helpful and so timely for me. My puppy was shot and killed by a neighbor recently. The grief is exactly as described. This animal was my world, but besides a couple of "Oh, so sorry" there was nothing. No checking in, no cards or flowers. I didn't even get to bury her body.
