Void of thought is often a misconception of meditation. That is impossible to do and not at all meditation. In this practice, we give ourselves grace. Recognizing and acknowledging our accomplishments by sitting down for our practice. It is in sitting down for our practice daily where growth begins.

Today,

We're going to focus on giving ourselves grace during our practice.

Find a comfortable seated position,

Allowing your eyes to gently look forward.

Or if you prefer,

Allowing your eyes closed.

Taking a moment to connect with our breath.

Letting the breath gently come in and slowly release out.

Feeling our bodies rooted and feeling our spines grow tall as a tree.

Letting the shoulders drop away from the ears.

Continuing to focus on your breath.

If you find yourself getting caught in thought,

Give yourself a moment of grace.

We often have a misconception of meditation as if we can stop the thoughts.

Maybe thoughts don't stop.

Take a moment to recognize it and allow it to drift away.

And finding a place to be anchored,

Whether in your breath or in the sound of the chime.

Feeling each breath come in,

Holding it,

And a slow release out.

Feeling any tension and anxiety releasing the body.

Once again,

Finding that moment of grace.

Once again,

Reconnecting with the breath,

Feeling the body anchored down,

Rooted deep down into the earth.

Feeling the spine grow tall and reconnecting with the breath.

Many of us may be wondering,

Are we doing this right?

I asked myself,

Do we really know what meditation is?

For me,

It has helped me find moments of clarity.

It has helped me grow.

It has changed my life.

And what do you need to do,

You ask?

Exactly what you're doing right now.

You are here for your practice.

Each day,

Taking the time and creating the habit will change your life.

Release any expectation and allow yourself to dive in.

Letting the fools jump the leap and allowing the adventure to open.

Allowing yourself to be immersed in the sound,

In the light,

In the light of your mind.

Letting the light release in these quiet times that we unlock our intuition.

Letting the breath come in.

As we offer ourselves grace in our practice and love to ourselves,

We allow ourselves to grow.

Slowly coming back in.

Kudos for getting here.

You did it.

Slowly begin to wiggle your toes and your fingertips and when you're ready,

Open your eyes.
