Meditation and me.

I meditate to remember.

Reminding myself of myself.

Becoming still.

Bones,

Muscles,

Skin,

Imperfectly still.

Making an effort to not make an effort.

Quieting the mind to listen.

Attuning ears to sweet sounds typically diluted by this busyness business.

Closing eyes to see.

Opening eyes inside.

Bowing at the feet of the wise one within.

Gently I inhale,

Reality as it is.

The cards that were dealt despite the dealer's decisions.

Exhaling love every time breath leaves.

Exhaling love.

Witnessing emotions.

Shaking hands,

Making friends.

Thanking them for completing me.

Opening heart to the way life is right now.

Remembering nature doesn't struggle with its cyclical patterns.

Tapping into inner knowing.

What breaks will put itself back together.

Trusting not perfection but wholeness.

Contemplating life.

To be fearless of the edge.

To be taken apart and put together again and again.

Considering death,

Transcendent transition to the unknown.

To be a body with an unbeating heart and lungs that no longer fill.

Embracing gratitude even in the mundane moments.

Especially in the mundane moments.

Willingness to pause a long while to return here.

I meditate to remember.

Reminding myself of myself.
