All great seekers have come.

All great seekers.

My Indian friends may be knowing,

But I'm not telling you the name.

There is a good master,

I would say.

He has maybe 60 or 70 million followers.

You know,

I don't have any followers.

Even you guys do not follow me.

I'm happy with that.

I'm happy with that.

So my friend India does a lot of posting on Facebook,

And so it's okay.

So it's okay.

So I was working in a Fed government and inviting these masters to guide people.

So I invited him,

Because you know,

I was an officer there,

So I used to invite him.

He gave a good talk and we became a good friend.

So he wanted me to become his disciple.

So I said,

I already have a master,

So I'm not,

I respect you,

I love you,

And everything is good.

So he told me that,

Who is your master?

So I told him.

So he had 70 acres of monastery in India.

It's a big deal.

I'm coming to the subject by this real life story.

So the years passed by.

So he sent five of his disciples.

You see,

I'm just talking about the state of the consciousness.

How enlightened masters have their state of consciousness.

So he sent five disciples to the monastery of my master to meet my master,

And these five disciples told my master that,

You see,

My master has 60,

70 million followers,

My master said.

Very good.

Thank you.

So he,

Now my master had 70 acres of monastery.

My master has a humble monastery,

Which is supported by all of us,

All of our seekers.

And then he spent 21 days in meditation.

I know what Sifan was narrating his experience,

So it came to my mind.

So he has centers almost in more than 100 countries.

I'm not telling you the name.

It's a fact.

It's a truth.

Here also we have many centers in couple of states.

So my master told all of them,

So have you said everything?

No,

No,

My master wanted to,

Wants to meet you.

No,

He's already an enlightened master.

He has 70 million followers.

He has 70 acres of land.

Why he wants to meet me?

Not required.

The first answer.

So all these five students insisted that,

No,

No,

You should meet our master.

So now see that my master told him,

My Indian friends may be aware of that.

So my master told all the five disciples,

Go and tell your master.

He has 70 acres of land on which his monastery is built.

By I own the entire universe,

Out of which your master has only 70 acres of land.

Not a big deal.

Second,

Oh,

So he has 70 million followers.

You see the God follows me.

Your master is followed by 70 million people.

And you see that existence follows me.

So when you reach to that state of enlightenment,

You merge with the entire existence and you feel as if the entire existence belongs to you.

So this,

This is what happens as we continue the journey of meditation.

We reach to that state and once,

What happens is that you are in the state of enlightenment,

You are in the state and once what happens when existence belongs to you,

It means you are totally,

You experience a constant oneness outside and inside.

I just came out of it.

My master always used to say,

Nis sangatve nis sangatvam nis sangatve nirmohatvam.

Constant,

I have to study the principles again and again and again to remove the doubt from the intellect,

To reach to that state.

So when we study,

When we listen,

When we learn,

Sat sangatve,

So the world is known as sat sangatve,

You are listening constantly,

Learning constantly,

Absorbing.

So it leads to as sangatve,

It means you seem to get unattached with the things outside.

Unattached.

The moment this mind goes out,

Picks up an object,

One master says that object in the mind sticks like a gum.

That is attachment.

Why it sticks like a gum?

Because it instantly creates the likes and dislikes.

The role of the prana,

The role of the prana comes here.

Prana means that energy in the life force.

But let me complete this verse and then we will go ahead with the prana.

So sat sangatve nis sangatvam,

Unattachment.

So unattached does not mean that you start hating people,

You are unattached.

Attachment means that the mind has withdrawn inside.

That is the real essence.

So once the mind withdraws inside,

Nis sangatve nirmohattvam,

Nirmoha.

Nirmoha means that that very delusion is removed.

What is that delusion?

Whom should I pick up?

John.

John is very smart,

Handsome.

Really?

No,

I'm just saying.

So now when I use these expressions,

So the mind deeper inside attaches like a gum.

There are likes and dislikes.

So I have to maintain my awareness.

And once the likes and dislikes continues in the mind,

The mind creates a kind of a delusion.

Delusion means what appears true is not true.

So how it happens?

You are listening and learning these principles again and again and reflecting,

Not only listening and learning.

So a true seeker does not go to the scientific aspect,

What happens to my brain?

When I hold the breath,

We become a polar bear.

We can bury ourselves down into the snow.

So only the principles of the Eastern wisdom helps you to understand.

So what happens the first?

Unattachment.

Unattachment,

You remove the delusion.

And when you remove the delusion,

What happens?

The mind becomes steady,

It removes the distraction.

That is our topic.

We started a couple of weeks ago when the distractions in the mind are removed completely,

You can be absorbed into meditation.

So we did talk about the nine obstacles on the path.

So you see that listening and learning.

Why listening and learning?

It is the intellect that has a tremendous doubt about the existence of the real self,

About my own true existence.

Why?

Because mind is hypnotized and mesmerized with objects of the world.

So when it is mesmerized and hypnotized by the objects of the world,

Seeking the pleasure,

Seeking pleasure in the objects of the world,

That is what the delusion is.

So you are listening again and again and again.

That is why,

You know,

I simply refer that I spent 26 years with my master.

You are listening again and again and again and one day it clicks.

Oh,

No delusion.

Is the mind distracted?

No,

Distracted.

You are totally absorbed into meditation.

That can be gained or attained quickly by the practice of pranayama.

Quickly.

So when I say quickly,

What Stephen says,

You may feel as if the body seems to get paralyzed.

So two things to understand that if you are retaining the breath,

Not more than 15 or 20 seconds,

It is okay.

Still with a disclaimer to those people who have some problems.

In our country,

We have for everything,

We have a disclaimer.

That's why I'm also using this.

So another master says the same thing what Patanjali is saying,

That once the distractions is removed,

Either you say distractions are removed,

It means the mind has become steady.

So that steadiness of the mind withdraws inside.

So when it withdraws inside,

You transcend the objects of the world outside.

Then what happens?

He directly says once you have a 100% steadiness of the mind,

Jeevan mukti,

The awakening takes place.

Awakening takes place.

Now when we study hatha yoga,

So I use the word at a wrong place,

Because the moment we say hatha yoga,

We say asana pranayama,

Doing headstand poses,

Walking on the hands instead of legs.

So that is not the case.

The hatha yoga master says,

Chale vate,

Chalam chittam neschale neschalam bhaveer.

If I can regulate the mind by changing the rate and the rhythm of the breath,

This is the meaning.

And I can change the rate and rhythm of the breath by changing the state of the mind.

You can say both are directly proportional mathematically.

Here is breath,

Here is mind.

So now see that.

More thoughts in the mind,

More thoughts in the mind.

So what happens?

Now the prana is disturbed.

You have a deep silence,

Slow breathing,

The mind calms down.

You have less thoughts.

I can say both are,

How can you say that?

You correct me whether it's directly proportional or inversely proportional.

So what we are doing in the practice for the last two weeks,

That we use both the mind and the prana.

So we are changing the rate and the rhythm of the breath and in the end we start using the mantra to influence the mind,

To influence the breath.

A great commentator,

Vachaspati Mishra.

Did I tell you about this guy who started studying,

Used to get absorbed in meditation,

Was writing a commentary,

He forgot that he was married because his wife was serving the food.

And ultimately what happened after he completed the book and he asked,

Honey who are you?

Don't do like this,

You know,

You'll be in a problem.

But one thing will happen that you will achieve success in meditation.

So ultimately he named the commentary of the text which is known as bhamati.
