After Work Reboot This meditation is designed to give you a short timeout in reboot during stressful times at work.
Sit comfortably with your eyes open or closed however you wish.
Take a deep breath in on the count of four and exhale slowly on the count of six.
As you inhale,
Imagine the air to spread out in your belly,
Expanding the air into your lungs,
Loosening up your ribcage as you exhale again.
With your next breath,
Feel the air moving up from your chest into your head area.
Exhale slowly again and follow the breath out of your nostrils.
Repeat this breath three times by yourself,
Counting your inhale to four and your exhale to six.
When you're ready,
Allow yourself to breathe naturally again.
I invite you to follow my voice on this little journey,
But feel free to drift off anytime you'd like.
Imagine yourself in the place you work every day.
If it is in an office,
Imagine yourself there.
If it is in a classroom or university,
Imagine that surrounding.
Even if you're working from home,
Imagine that specific surrounding of yours where you make an effort to concentrate every day.
Imagine that it's already late and you realize that you're all by yourself.
Despite all the busyness during the day,
Your individual workplace now is quiet and tranquil.
You open up a window and let the cool air of the night enter into the room,
Refreshing your senses.
As you look around in the midst of all familiar things,
You all of a sudden see a strange small machine.
It is only a couple of meters away from you.
It looks interesting and you cannot resist but get closer to it.
You wonder what it is for and who left it there,
Yet for some reason you feel it is just there for you.
It looks like a small scanner in the size of your hand.
You have never seen anything like it.
Attentively,
You explore the shape,
The colors and the buttons of this machine.
You find the start button and press it,
Just to see what happens.
As you do so,
A blue ray of light starts to flow out of the machine,
Scanning you from the top of your head to the tips of your toes.
You are surprised but immediately feel a warm and comforting sensation,
As if this light would support your body to rest.
As you permit the light to move up and down your body,
You notice how your shoulders sink down a little and your muscles start to soften slowly.
The tension in your body surrenders more and more to the blue light.
You notice how your breath becomes calm.
It's as if the blue light recharges your body by radiating around you.
After a few moments,
You feel more and more recharged with energy.
You discover a pause button on the machine and press it out of curiosity.
Instantly the light changes from blue to green,
Its rays are now focusing on your heart center and gradually spreading out to your chest area.
You can feel how irritation and stress of the day start to dissolve within the green light.
It's as if the light is cocooning all your worries and melting them until they constantly decrease and leave you with a feeling of steadiness and calm.
After a while,
The green ray flattens out and the machine turns off.
It seems to you as if you just had a very soothing daydream.
You take a deep breath in and can feel how refreshed you are.
Slowly you start to feel your feet touching the ground again and you begin moving your fingers and toes.
As you open your eyes in your very own time,
You find yourself back again in the here and now.
Return to this meditation whenever you feel tired or need to reboot yourself during stressful times.
