We're going to be doing a grounding meditation today through the practice of rooting down.
To be grounded is to be and to rest in a focused,
Strong,
And balanced place within your energetic body.
We feel ungrounded when we experience exhaustion,
Irritability,
Unwanted feelings,
Anxiety,
And restlessness.
Many times this clouds our life with uncertainty,
Fear,
Shame.
As we go through this practice today,
I'm going to encourage you to just relax,
Sit with yourself,
And sit with whatever comes up for you in the next few minutes.
In the next few seconds,
You can go ahead and start to close your eyes,
Bringing your gaze inward.
Get comfortable either in a seated position or standing.
Either works.
Your eyes closed and in your chosen stance.
I'm going to start by taking three deep breaths.
In these breaths,
I want you to think about filling up the belly completely by inhaling through the nose and then emptying it by exhaling out the nose.
Second deep breath,
Inhaling through the nose,
Filling the belly,
Exhaling to empty.
Next deep breath,
Inhaling through the nose,
Exhaling to empty.
If you're in a seated posture,
Bring your focus to your tailbone,
To the base of your spine.
If you're standing,
Bring your attention to the bottoms of your feet.
Visualize roots coming out of this focused place on your body,
Either the bottoms of your feet or the base of your spine.
Roots growing down into the floor,
Maybe breaking through your chair,
Breaking through the floor and the foundation of your home until it reaches Mother Earth.
Growing,
Growing,
Growing.
The roots grow deep into the ground with strength,
Confidence,
With agility.
And as these roots begin to meet the dirt,
They start to spread.
They become a base for your being.
And they spread deep,
Deep into the core of the earth,
Breaking through rock,
Breaking through dirt until they reach the core.
Now visualize your energy leaving your roots to feed Mother Earth,
Giving the earth your energy,
Sharing the energy that has become an excess to you that may be causing you anxiety,
Uncertainty,
Fear or restlessness.
Give it away.
Let that energy leave through your roots and enter the earth so that the earth can transform it for you.
And keep visualizing your energy,
Weaving through your roots until you feel calm,
Connected,
Focused and balanced.
We're going to take a few deep breaths to rest and spread this sense of balance throughout our bodies to share it with every inch of muscle,
Every bone,
Every organ.
We inhale fully through the nose together.
Exhale.
Again inhale.
And exhale.
Last time,
Make it count.
Make it juicy.
Inhaling through the nose.
Exhaling out.
And take a brief moment of pause to just feel.
Feel that balance.
Rest in your center.
When you're ready,
You can flutter your eyes back open.
