The eyes are a gateway for the receiving of so much information.
Much of it is totally unnecessary to us,
To our well-being.
In closing the eyes you are providing a shield,
A safeguard to the outside world.
Don't force your breathing,
Or try to do anything.
Just be here and listen.
Absorb.
Feel.
Give this work your honest concentration.
What you can manage on this day.
Close your eyes and let them rest.
Rejuvenate for a while.
In this visualization we will be using the mind's eye.
The third eye.
Breathe.
Just breathe.
Breathe and allow.
And feel open.
And feel freedom.
Here,
Once again,
You find yourself on the guts of the great river.
The river Ganges.
You have the first lesson.
Purification.
And rejuvenation.
This river is the embodiment of universal energy.
Feel free to go back anytime and enjoy the deep deep cleansing of its waters in part one.
Now we move on.
Now we move deeper.
The day has been beautiful.
And the sun slowly begins to set.
Blazing the sky with a wash of pink,
Orange and red.
All the sounds of the day begin to calm and wash away.
And you find yourself here once again.
Sitting on the skinned ear-guts.
Looking out over this majestic river.
Start to feel the heritage of this place.
Thousands have made great pilgrimages here.
From the four corners of the sub-continent and beyond.
To become one with the universe here in these waters.
These holy waters.
You have felt these very waters flow right through you.
Bringing you back to your essence,
Your core,
Your new beginning.
There is no ill that these waters cannot wash away.
The goddess Ganga breathes new life into all things.
It is her purpose,
Her mission.
But she is also the agent of change.
She has the power to elicit great change.
Remove huge blocks from life.
And help us master the one great truth.
Freedom.
Freedom from our conditioning.
Freedom from our perpetual thoughts about ourselves.
Freedom from limitations and false beliefs.
These guts were built for ceremonial purpose.
This fine ancient sandstone pitted with holes and cracks.
As the sands of time wear on.
Pushing the future into the now.
Absorbing the past.
And letting it fall and wither because we have no use for it anymore.
Today,
Just as it has been for hundreds of years on this very site.
You will perform a fire ceremony.
Agni,
The Hindu god of fire.
Son of the great goddess Ganga was born here.
And he was born here for a reason.
Born here because this place lays claim to complete connection to the entire universe.
To Vishnu's great method.
People have been cremated here since the sun first rose over this sacred river.
Funeral pyres have been built to mark death.
To help those who have passed away move on through to their onward journey and into the next life.
But what is death?
Death is change.
It is evolution.
Momentary completion and the return to the new.
It is the marking point of no more.
No more wasting time,
No more pain,
No more suffering,
No more sorrow.
And the opening of the door into new beginnings.
Freedom to step into the new.
Freedom to be without the burdens,
The unnecessary ills that plague each existence.
As you sit here on the steps of the ghats,
Look to the river.
Feel her power,
Her energy,
The harmony and balance she brings.
She is the agent of change,
As are you.
Look up to the ghats and you will see a stone platform with a funeral pyre laid ready.
Sticks and wood laid in a ceremonial lattice framework to support what would normally be a body.
But not today.
Today you will place your wishes on this pyre.
Your hopes and dreams.
Visualize them in as much detail as possible.
What is it that you really want?
That you really need?
What would make you happy?
Take your time.
Shiva,
Shakra and the gods of the air will receive your wishes.
And they will integrate them into your reality.
All you need to do is to remain conscious and aware in each moment of daily life.
To receive them through signals and signposts that the universe will place in your path.
Eyes open and heart pure.
The first part of this visualization gave us a pure heart.
This part is for the opening of the eyes.
Visualize your truest desires.
See them in your life as clear as day in great,
Great detail.
Now go.
Go to the pyre and look at it.
Bring flowers through the power of your imagination.
Flowers like sticks of incense.
And anything you feel you need to dress this pyre for the fire ceremony of your complete happiness.
Candles appear as the night draws in.
They light a ring around the pyre.
And give a warm incandescent glow to your work.
Dress the pyre with whatever you feel is right.
To make this a ceremony of truth,
Honesty,
And authenticity.
Then as the night sky falls and the moon sits full and high in the sky.
Pray to the stars in thankfulness that these things are coming.
As you dress the pyre,
An old man sits to accompany you with the sounds of the gods of the air.
Now,
When you are ready,
Call on Agni,
The god of fire.
And set alight this pyre,
This pyre of your complete happiness.
Welcome him with honor and respect.
Allow him to do his work.
Manifest the flame and set it on fire.
And dance around it.
Dance great tribal ceremony to the coming of your gifts.
Throw flowers and incense,
Aromatic herbs and seeds upon it.
Will thy dreams into reality,
My friend?
For they are already coming.
Then,
Sit.
And watch it blaze and burn.
And carry your dreams up to the gods of the air.
For they know what they must do now.
And when the time is right,
When you feel the time is right,
Go to the river once more.
Let her breathe new life into you.
Energize you.
Bloat in her dreams.
Breathe in her calmness,
Her completeness,
Her totality.
Allow her waters to pass through you.
Revitalize your heart.
Awaken your essence,
Your being,
And bring you to the now.
Look to the burning funeral pyre of your complete happiness.
Will it,
Will it to burn ablaze so strong,
So vibrant,
That nothing of the old survives?
And relax in these calming,
Healing waters,
Confident that you are in you,
That you are complete.
Your essence is vital and strong once more.
Your peace,
Your strength.
Your wisdom shining like a million stars with nowhere to go,
Nothing to achieve,
Simply to be,
To enjoy,
To appreciate this space,
This time,
This you.
And when you are done,
Thank this beautiful place,
This beautiful sacred place,
And make your way back.
Rest assured that in the final part,
You will be connected to the law of vibration,
The one true law to effortlessly allowing new beginnings to become whole and true and one with your own mighty path.
