Acceptance,
Meditation,
Guided practice.
Find a comfortable position.
Sitting or lying down,
Whatever feels supportive right now.
Let your body settle.
Let your shoulders drop.
Close your eyes or soften your gaze.
Take a deep breath in.
And let it out with a sigh.
Good.
Just arrive here.
Nothing to fix.
Nothing to change.
Just this moment as it is.
Now,
Bring your attention to your body.
Scan through gently,
Noticing what's here.
Maybe there's tension somewhere.
Maybe there's tightness or discomfort.
Maybe there's ease and comfort,
Or maybe there's numbness.
Whatever sensations are present.
Just notice them.
No need to judge or evaluate,
Just observe.
And now,
Place your attention.
On any area of your body that feels uncomfortable or tense.
Instead of trying to release it or fix it.
Just breathe into it,
Make space around it.
Imagine you could soften the edges around that sensation,
Not make it go away,
Just soften your grip on it.
And silently.
Gently.
Say to that sensation,
This too belongs,
Let it be.
Now shift your attention to your emotional landscape.
What's present right now?
Maybe there's calm.
Maybe there's anxiety.
Or restlessness.
Maybe there's sadness or frustration or nothing in particular.
Whatever emotion is here.
Even if it's subtle.
Even if it's uncomfortable.
Acknowledge it.
And now,
Instead of pushing it away,
Or trying to change it.
Practice allowing it.
To be here.
You might place your hand on your heart or your belly as a gesture of kindness toward yourself.
And breathe with whatever you're feeling.
Make room for it.
Say to yourself,
Gently.
.
.
It's okay to feel this.
This too belongs.
You're not saying you like it.
You're not saying you want it to stay.
You're just acknowledging,
This is what's here right now,
And I can hold it.
Notice what happens when you stop fighting.
When you stop resisting.
There might be softening.
There might be relief.
Or the feeling might stay exactly the same.
And that's okay too.
Now bring your attention to your thoughts.
What's your mind doing right now?
Maybe it's quiet.
Maybe it's busy.
Maybe it's judging this practice.
Or planning what comes next.
Whatever thoughts are here,
Notice them without grabbing onto them or pushing them away.
And practice the same,
Allowing.
These thoughts belong.
Let them be.
You don't have to believe them.
You don't have to act on them.
You just let them move through,
Like clouds passing across the sky.
You are the sky.
The thoughts are just weather.
They come,
They go,
You remain.
Now expand your awareness to include your whole experience,
Body sensations,
Emotions,
Thoughts,
Sounds around you,
Everything that's present right now.
And practice this radical allowing.
Whatever is here is welcome.
Not because you like it.
Not because you chose it.
But because it's already here.
And resisting it.
Only creates more pain.
Breathe with your experience all of it.
You are safe.
You can hold this.
You are bigger than any single feeling,
Any single thought.
This,
Too,
Belongs.
Let it be.
Now,
Gently begin to deepen your breath.
Take a fuller breath in and let it out slowly.
Bring small movements back.
Wiggle your fingers and toes.
And when you're ready.
Gently open your eyes.
Welcome back.
Take a moment to notice.
How do you feel now compared to when you started?
Maybe there's more space.
Maybe there's less struggle.
Or maybe things feel exactly the same.
And you're learning that that's okay,
Too.
Here's what I want you to remember.
Acceptance doesn't mean you have to like what's happening.
It doesn't mean you stop working toward change or stop taking care of yourself.
Acceptance means you stop adding the extra layer of suffering that comes from resistance.
You stop fighting reality in this moment,
Which frees up energy to actually respond skillfully.
You can practice this anytime.
When anxiety shows up.
Instead of panicking about the panic.
Try saying.
.
.
Anxiety is here.
I can make space for this.
When sadness arrives,
Instead of judging yourself for feeling sad,
Say,
Sadness belongs.
Let it be.
When a difficult thought appears.
This is just a thought.
It can be here.
The phrase,
This too belongs,
Or let it be,
Can become a touchstone.
A way to remind yourself to soften instead of clench.
This is one of the most powerful practices you'll learn.
It creates emotional safety.
It reduces suffering.
And it allows you to be with your life as it actually is.
Instead of constantly fighting for it to be different.
You've now learned seven practices in this foundation section.
Breathwork tools and mindfulness practices.
You're building real capacity to work with your nervous system and your mind.
In the next practice,
We'll explore thoughts and feelings as clouds.
A meditation that helps you see your internal experience with distance and perspective,
So you're not swept away by every emotion or thought.
When you're ready,
I'll meet you there.
For now.
Practice allowing.
Practice softening.
You are safe enough.
To feel what you feel.
I'll see you in the next practice.
