In this short breath work practice,
We're going to be using your breath to bring a sense of calm,
A moment of peace,
To reduce anxiety and overwhelm,
To soothe,
To soften,
To feel a little more grounded and call in a feeling of safety and love in the moment.
And this practice can be used any time you need to calm,
Soften,
Soothe,
Reduce anxiety,
Reduce overwhelm,
And move into a state of safety,
Of peace,
Of tranquility,
And you have the power to do that just with your breath.
So I'd like you to just take a moment to feel the points of contact with wherever you are,
Whether that's your feet on the ground,
Or sitting on a chair,
And just notice the sensations of support beneath you.
And we're going to be using a very simple breath,
Always accessible,
Always available.
I want you to do this in your own time,
Pacing,
Intensity,
And depth.
The breath is very simple,
In through the nose and out through the mouth.
Just make sure that that exhale empties all of the air.
And so that exhale through the mouth is going to be a little longer,
A little deeper than the inhale.
You don't have to think about that,
Because just by inhaling through the nose and exhaling through the mouth,
Already you're engaging the parasympathetic nervous system to call,
In a sense,
The feeling of safety,
To create a moment of calm.
And by exhaling through the mouth,
You're already just expelling a little more air through the mouth.
Or you can blow,
Or a big sigh.
Sometimes sighing or sounding can help release and reduce that anxiety more quickly.
Move the energy through breath,
Movement,
Or sounding.
Perhaps a big sigh,
In through the nose.
Just want you to do that in your own time,
In through the nose.
Whatever feels right for you in this moment.
See if you can cultivate a sense of your heart,
Just noticing your heart beating.
Feeling that blood everywhere it's needed.
It's an infinite resource of energy,
Of love.
And just notice your heart.
If you can breathe,
Breathe.
Compassionate for yourself.
Repeating that internally on the exhale.
Energy dissipated,
Transmuted.
The anxiety,
The stress,
Just
