Hello and welcome.
My name is Kelly Onston and I'm joining you for this practice today from my home in Bocas del Toro,
Panama.
Is in the jungle so you might hear a lot of bird sounds in the background.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
This is a short,
Sweet.
Simple way.
To build a more conscious and loving and healthy relationship.
With the home of your body.
Going to do that just with some light touch.
Using the eyes,
The breath.
Our gratitude.
And most importantly our loving awareness.
Whether due to maybe chronic pain.
Trauma.
Or really just never had an opportunity to build a conscious relationship with the body.
We can go a long time without really acknowledging our body.
In a loving way,
In a way with some reverence and appreciation.
Most of the time we.
.
.
Give our attention to the body when maybe there's pain or.
.
.
Doing something we don't want it to.
And so it's important to develop this healthy relationship.
To give the body the time and love that it deserves.
Our body is the way that we experience life.
It is our human suit,
As Jana Romer calls it.
And so it absolutely deserves some recognition and appreciation.
Just as any.
Healthy relationship does.
Think about what you would give.
A healthy conscious relationship.
You would want that other person to feel seen.
Valued.
Offering some touch.
Some appreciation and love.
The most simple thing.
That are the most transformative and healing and connective.
And so that's what we're going to give our bodies today.
Don't you think it deserves it?
Okay,
So to begin the practice,
Find a comfortable position.
It can be seated on the ground or the chair or in a bed.
And through the practice,
I will invite you to touch certain parts of the body just to acknowledge.
You're feeling any resistance to to touch the body understand.
No worries.
You can just listen and follow along.
And soon enough you'll feel a little bit more comfortable to join in in a little deeper way.
So as you're ready.
Begin to Close the eyes.
And place one hand on the heart.
Take a deep breath into the nose.
Exhale out with a sigh.
And feel yourself here.
Feel yourself,
Meaning feel the hand,
Make contact with the chest above the heart.
And really feel or sense your own presence.
Sending a little love back and forth between the hand and the heart as you breathe.
Making that connection with the body.
Maybe repeating the words.
I am here in my body.
I am home.
I am here in my body.
I am home.
And taking one more deep sigh to settle into the body a little bit more.
Almost like a sigh of relief that you're here with the body together at last.
Beautiful.
Let me go ahead and open the eyes.
Remove the hand.
We're just gonna give our attention to different parts of the body.
Starting with the feet.
So we'll place our feet out before us.
We'll even look at the feet.
We're using the eyes.
We're using the hands.
Using the words.
And using our love.
Just giving this attention to the feet,
Really looking at the toes.
Without judgment,
All of this non-judgmental awareness.
And giving a little gentle,
Loving touch to the feet.
Maybe a little massage.
Think of how much the feet do for us every day.
Good,
And as you're looking at the feet,
I'm going to offer you a mantra.
To say over and over again to different parts of the body.
I see you.
I feel you.
Thank you.
And I love you.
And then moving up bringing the hands over the ankles just making a little contact here Take a breath.
And then bringing the hands to the lower leg,
Maybe to the shin or the calf.
And just simply making contact with the eye.
With the hands.
And saying again.
I see you.
I feel you.
I thank you.
And I love you.
I'm bringing those hands up and then past the knees or sometimes we have pain in the knees.
We're not going to get mad at the body.
We're just going to be with it and send it some love.
Good,
Right over the knees to the upper thigh.
Just making a little contact here in a way that feels good and right for you.
And saying these words again.
I see you.
Really acknowledging the body.
I see you.
I feel you.
Making touch any way that feels right.
I thank you.
Thanking the body for all it does for us.
And I love you.
Good,
And then continuing up.
Cross the legs or sit however is comfortable.
And making contact with the hip.
The hips that hold so much.
We could bring a hand to the front of the hip.
Or even the lower back sacrum area.
And offering these same words.
I see you.
I feel you.
I thank you.
And I love you.
A moment here and just take a breath with this part of the body.
Just noticing how it feels to see and feel and touch and think.
As part of the body.
Good,
Without making any judgments or any improvements.
We'll start to work our way up the body,
Now maybe to the area of the chest or the heart.
Might be difficult to see the chest.
But looking down,
I see you.
I feel you.
I thank you.
And I love you.
Good.
And taking our attention to our hands,
Our sacred hands.
Taking a moment to see the hand.
See you.
I feel you.
Offering your hands light touches on the front or the back.
Thank you.
And I love you.
Taking this moment with the hands,
Our hands.
Create so much for us in our life.
Taking a moment.
Acknowledge that.
Good.
And then shifting the attention to the arms.
Touching the arms,
The lower arm and the upper arm,
Any way that feels right for you.
First with the eyes,
I see you.
I see you,
Arms.
I feel you just light touches with the arms I thank you.
And I love you.
Maybe pause here with the arms for a moment.
Take a breath.
And acknowledging the arms.
Arms.
Is the ability to hug and to hold.
To reach.
Saying thank you.
Sending love.
Beautiful.
Now working our way up to the neck.
You can see the neck,
You can see it in your mind's eyes.
I see you.
And I feel you just offering a little touch to the neck and the throat.
I thank you,
Nick.
And I love you.
Take a breath with the neck.
Good.
And working your way up again to the head and the scalp.
Good.
And again,
Can't see the head,
But we can use our mind's eye to see the skull.
Protecting our brain.
Feel the scalp.
So many points on the head that as we press them it kind of wakes up the body so really feeling the scalp I thank you.
And I love you.
Good.
And then finally just touching the face.
See our own face unless you're in front of a mirror.
But feel and touch the face like you're touching the face of someone you love and adore.
See you.
I feel you.
I thank you,
And I love you.
Take a breath here.
If you haven't already,
Release the palms and you can take the hands down to the knees.
Close the eyes for the last moments here.
Noticing if your body feels a little bit more online.
Connected or alive.
Saying to your body as a whole,
I see you I feel you I thank you.
And I love you.
Sealing that in with a big breath into the nose.
Open the mouth and let it go.
And ending by placing the right hand over the heart and feeling your presence here.
And again,
Sometimes it's the most simple thing.
That can transform.
The way that we connect.
So I invite you to try this practice.
For 30 days.
And see what changes with the relationship of your body.
By spending this quality time.
And saying these words.
And the practice by inhaling together.
And exhaling together.
Thank you so much for joining me.
I see you.
I feel you.
I thank you and I love you.
