The Aramaic Lord's Prayer opens with the phrase Abun,

Father,

Mother of the Cosmos,

Very different than the King James Version,

Which begins with Our Father who art in Heaven.

I have grown to love both translations,

But I've discovered an infinite source of inspiration,

Courage,

And equanimity in meditating with the Aramaic Version.

When you listen to the language of the rest of this sacred passage,

Slowly and repetitively,

You discover its riches of meaning and mystery.

Also,

Your experience of the prayer changes greatly when you move from seeing it as a petition or request to a declaration or a series of affirmative spiritual truths.

I appreciate you joining with me to meditate on this incredible passage.

We'll go through it several times together,

Slowing down to allow space for insight.

Notice if differing pauses open you to changes in the message.

In the last go-through,

I'll share insights that have come to me over the years.

Before we begin,

Let's pause a moment and this prayer.

Divine Spirit of all that is,

We open to receive exactly what we need to hear and know today.

May the words of this beautiful passage resonate in our hearts and minds in ways that bring forth our highest self.

Show us the way of light,

Love,

And truth.

And so it is.

Begin with centering breaths.

Breathing into the belly,

Deep and slow,

As we meditate on the words of the Aramaic Lord's Prayer.

Abun,

O birther,

Father,

Mother of the cosmos,

You create all that moves in light.

Focus your light in us.

Make it useful as the rays of a beacon show the way.

Create your rain of unity now,

Through our fiery hearts and willing hands.

Your one desire then acts with ours.

As in all light,

So in all forms.

Grant us this day what we need in bread and insight.

Subsistence for the call of growing life.

Loose the cords of mistakes binding us,

As we release the strands we hold of others' guilt.

Let us not enter forgetfulness,

But free us from unrighteousness.

From you is born all,

Ruling will,

The power,

And the life to do.

The song that beautifies all,

From age to age it renews.

Truly,

Power to these statements.

May they be the source from which all my thoughts and actions flow.

And again,

Abun,

O birther,

Father,

Mother of the cosmos.

You create all that moves in light.

Focus your light in us.

Make it useful as the rays of a beacon show the way.

Create your rain of unity now.

Through our fiery hearts and willing hands,

Your one desire then acts with ours.

As in all light,

So in all forms.

Grant us this day what we need in bread and insight.

Subsistence for the call.

Loose the cords of mistakes binding us,

As we release the strands we hold of others' guilt.

Let us not enter forgetfulness,

But free us from unrighteousness.

From you is born all,

Ruling will,

The power,

And the life to do.

The song that beautifies all,

From age to age it renews.

Truly,

Power to these statements.

May they be the source from which all my thoughts and actions flow,

Sealed in trust and faith.

And again,

O birther,

Father,

Mother,

You create all and all,

Moves in.

Focus your light in us.

Make it useful as the rays of a beacon show the way.

Create your rain of unity now,

Through our fiery hearts and willing hands.

Your one desire then acts with ours.

As in all light,

So in all forms.

Grant us this day what we need in bread and insight.

Subsistence for the call of growing life.

Loose the cords of mistakes binding us,

As we release the strands we hold of others' guilt.

Let us not enter forgetfulness,

But free us from unripeness.

From you is born all,

The power,

And the life.

The song that beautifies all,

From age to age it renews.

Truly,

Power to these statements.

May they be the source from which all my thoughts and actions flow.

And again,

The name of mystery,

O birther,

Father,

Mother of the cosmos,

Creator of all,

Indwelling in all,

You create all that moves in light.

Focus your light in us.

The divine spark is in all.

It's in you.

Make it useful as the rays of a beacon show the way using that inner light in you.

Create your reign of unity now,

Through our fiery hearts and willing hands.

Take the action this prayer calls you to take,

And demonstrate that with your willing hands.

The creator's one desire then acts with ours.

As in all light,

So in all forms.

The divine permeates everything.

Grant us this day what we need in bread and insight.

Life brings what we need within and without.

Subsistence for the call of growing life.

You are called to live your highest and best.

Loose the cords of mistakes binding us as we release the strands we hold of others' guilt.

As we forgive,

So we are forgiven.

Let us not enter forgetfulness,

But free us from unripeness.

Unripeness as the state we're not yet ready for.

Enlightenment happens in perfect time,

And it's not about becoming special.

It is the process of becoming one with all.

From you is born all,

Ruling will,

The power,

And the life to do.

The creator,

The sustainer,

Is in all,

Around,

And through,

And within.

The song that beautifies all,

From age to age it renews.

That song is life itself,

Ever new,

Moment to moment.

Truly,

Power to these statements.

May they be the source from which all my thoughts and actions flow.

May we be inspired by light and love and truth.

Courage,

Hearing that call of growing life.

Sealed in trust and faith.

Amen.

I've contemplated this prayer and meditation hundreds of times over several years,

And I continue to hear new things right when I need them.

I hope you receive similar perfectly timed loving messages in your exploration of these extraordinary teachings.

May peace,

Love,

And light be with you today.

Namaste.
