Welcome to Peacebeam and to session three of the five elements of love.
Care.
Let's begin with step one.
Notice.
Just take a few moments to notice how you're feeling today.
Ask yourself the question,
How am I?
Feel your emotions.
Are you anxious?
Are you happy?
Just notice.
Maybe scan your body for tension.
If your shoulders are raised,
Let them fall.
Check your hands if they're clenched tight then just relax them.
Everything gentle and easy.
As we move to step two,
Breathe.
So just bring your focus and your attention now to your breathing.
Just begin to watch your in-breath and your out-breath,
The natural rhythm of your breath.
And if you like,
You can start to gently extend your breath just so you're breathing a little more deeply.
But very relaxed.
And as you begin to feel some ease arrive in your body,
Just imagine that your breath,
It's going deep into your heart.
And as you breathe out,
Your breath is coming up,
Out into the world from your heart.
As we move to step three,
Activate.
So today we're going to consider the second element of love,
Which is care.
And care is another one of those deceptively tiny words that has deep and wide and nuanced meaning for each of us.
If we look at how this word is commonly defined,
It ranges from providing what may be necessary for somebody's health or welfare,
To a feeling of affection,
Interest or concern.
And while these definitions may be accurate,
They don't really do justice to what we actually experience when we care deeply about something or somebody.
For today's session,
I want you to call to your mind and into your heart somebody or something that you care about deeply.
So just take a breath now and bring that person or thing into your consciousness.
And now I want you to notice the shift in your energy,
Notice how it feels in your body.
Notice the purposefulness of this care.
Care is a very practical emotion.
It is active,
It seeks to do,
It is in fact a superpower.
Because when we care deeply,
We will go beyond our normal capacities.
It is one of the active elements of love,
And it is precious.
Your signature of caring is unique to you.
It is to be honored as a great blessing and cultivated as an active,
Alive thing,
Not as a concept.
So just take another breath and let the power of your capacity to care fill you.
As we move to step four,
Peace beam.
In order to peace beam,
We need to care.
When we are intending from the deepest part of our being,
Unrestricted good for ourselves and for all the beings around us,
You are calling on your unique power for care.
It makes love grow everywhere.
Have a beautiful day.
Thank you.
