Highlights

  • From language to food to dancing, this retreat will offer you a full Greek cultural experience.

Details

Join us in the coastal village of Messinia where Paul's grandmother was born in the southern Peloponnese of Greece. In the stunning Greek village in the Peloponnese, you will be able to live life slowly – breath by breath – just like the locals do. This trip is meant to be an antidote to the overly stimulating and, at times, overwhelming world in which we live. Our goal, every day, is to help you remain as present and in the moment as possible. This retreat offers you the opportunity to get off the beaten path and focus entirely on yourself and your well-being – physical, mental, and spiritual. The daily yoga, calming sound healing sessions, breathtaking Mediterranean surroundings – and so much more – will facilitate your personal growth and benefit your health in numerous ways. This retreat goes beyond bringing you to Greece – one of the most beautiful places on earth – by offering you a raw cultural experience that will leave you yearning for more. Perhaps the most fundamental part of that experience is "filoxenia," (love towards the stranger), an ideal which Greeks have held near and dear to their hearts since antiquity. This means that you will be welcomed with open arms, a smile, great respect, and friendship. Our group will be staying at the Hotel Estia, a lovely seaside hotel run by a woman whose family embodies hospitality and who is a longtime family friend. You will enjoy a variety of fresh and delicious Greek cuisine daily. There is also plenty of free time for you to sightsee, enjoy the sun, swim in the sea, rest, read, and relax. All guests will be sharing a room with one other guest. A lot of time will be spent outside of the rooms and we’re focused on creating an equal experience to interact with the community and culture for everyone.

Testimonials

info

This transformational retreat had more than just stars aligned. It included unique human souls, full moon, wonderful weather, the Holy Spirit & The God-I serve, Mother Earth‘s bounty, the history of the land and heritage of the people, the spirits of the Greek gods, and so much more I didn’t even realize that were present. Madleen and Paul gifted me with their guiding wisdom, authentic self, and their own gifts, talents, and humbleness throughout this beautiful retreat. They created and held space for me and others as well as for themselves. I am forever, changed and grateful. Truly life-changing!

Christine O., USA

This retreat exceeded beyond my expectations and was truly the best trip I have ever experienced. The culture is so beautiful. Paul's connection to his village created a feeling of being home. The daily yoga by Madleen on the beach was a great way to start my day. They allowed the space for exploration so I was able to rent a bike and explore the area. Thank you Paul & Madleen for this remarkable experience

Sarah C., USA

I had the great pleasure and joy of joining Madleen and Paul on this remarkable retreat with my 80 year old mom. They were so accommodating to all of us and provided excellent hospitality. The beach and area is so beautiful. Everyone was generous and treated us like friends and family.
