Ashraya (Inner Sanctuary) is a sacred space within your imagination where you feel most at peace. By returning to this place during your practice, even the heaviest thoughts and emotions begin to soften and flow more easily. When you welcome this sanctuary into your daily life, you carry its stillness with you—finding calm and clarity even in the midst of life’s challenges.

Hello and welcome.

My name is Yuxin and today I will guide you into your inner sanctuary,

Your ashram,

A place in your imagination where you feel the most at ease.

This can be the foundation of your yoga nidra practice or it can simply be a tool that you use in your daily life to bring more calmness and ease into your mind when you are faced with challenges in the external world.

So take a comfortable seat or if you like you can lie down making sure that you are completely supported.

Take a deep breath in through the nose.

Allowing the mind to rest.

Allow the mind to be swallowed by the presence of the heart.

Letting go of analysing,

Thinking.

Coming to the world of sensing and feeling.

Choose to feel ease,

Peace and contentment right now.

Decide that you don't need anything more at this moment.

Decide that you are the source of all things.

Decide everything arises within you.

Allow peace to arise.

Allow contentment to arise.

Can you invite a memory to your mind?

A time where you felt at ease,

At peace and truly content.

A time where you feel perfectly happy just as the way you are.

Needing nothing.

Needing nothing at all.

If you find it difficult to connect with this space,

Simply invite memory where you felt a bit more peaceful than usual.

Letting go of the event itself.

Focusing on the surroundings.

The space you are occupying.

Sensing the space you are occupying at this moment.

The space being the embodiment of ease,

Peace and contentment.

What does the place look like?

You may look up and down.

Looking at your left and right.

To the front.

Looking around.

Sensing every detail of this place.

The colour.

The texture.

All the subtleties.

Close to you.

And far away from you.

Can you hear any sounds in this place?

What can you hear at this moment?

The sound closest to you in this sanctuary.

And the sound that's the furthest away from you.

What about the smell as the air traveling up and down through your nostrils.

With the sensation of your breath.

Do you feel anything that's beyond the sensations?

Can you smell in this space?

Can you feel anything as you reach out your hands to touch the ground?

All the objects around you.

The feeling around your fingertips.

Can you taste anything?

Sensing your tongue.

Even if it's just the sweetness in the air.

Engaging all your senses.

Fully immerse yourself.

You are in a sanctuary.

Looking around.

Feeling into this space.

That this space arises within you.

It's the embodiment of your ultimate contentment.

Peace.

When you arrive in this imaginary space.

You arrive in your true nature.

The contentment.

The love.

The unconditional love.

The limitless love within you.

Remember this space.

And you can always,

Always return back here.

During your practice.

Or throughout the day.

Your inner sanctuary is with you.

Always.

Coming back to the feeling of breathing in and out through the nose.

Gentle movement around your arms and feet.

Slowly coming back.

Opening your eyes when you're ready.

Thank you for practicing with me today.

And remember your inner sanctuary is always with you.

And you can always return back here.

Thank you and see you next time.
