Welcome,
This is Teresa,
And I'm so glad you're here.
This is a longer,
Spacious meditation for moments when you notice yourself holding on to a relationship,
An outcome,
A dream,
Or a version of life,
And you're ready to explore what it might feel like to soften without losing what matters.
Nothing here needs to be fixed or released,
There's no demand to move faster than your nervous system is ready for.
This is simply an invitation to create more room inside your body and let love breathe.
If it feels safe,
Allow your eyes to close or soften your gaze.
Take a moment to notice the space you're in,
The temperature of the air,
The quiet or the sounds around you.
Let yourself arrive fully.
Begin by feeling the weight of your body,
The places where you're being supported right now,
By the floor,
The chair,
The earth beneath you.
And notice the steadiness of that support.
You don't have to hold yourself up.
Take a slow breath in through the nose and a longer,
Gentler breath out through the mouth.
Again,
Inhale slowly and exhale as if you're releasing effort.
Let your breathing settle into a natural rhythm.
Now bring your attention to your hands.
Just notice their position,
Any subtle gripping,
Tension or holding.
And without forcing change,
Imagine opening the hands just a little.
Not dropping anything,
Just loosening the fingers.
Stay here for a few breaths.
There are times in life when we hold on to what we love very tightly.
A person,
An outcome,
A sense of safety,
Even a version of ourselves we've worked hard to become.
We often do this not from fear alone,
But from devotion,
From care,
From a desire to protect what feels precious.
And yet,
Over time,
That holding can begin to restrict us.
The breath becomes shallower,
The body more braced,
Possibility narrower.
If something comes to mind that you've been holding closely,
You might gently name it silently.
Then imagine placing it into the open palm of your hand.
You're not giving it away,
You're simply allowing it to rest there without effort.
Notice what happens in your body as you do this.
There may be resistance,
Or relief,
Or nothing at all.
Whatever you notice is welcome.
Now bring your awareness to the jaw and notice if there's any clenching or holding there.
On your next exhale,
Invite the jaw to soften,
The tongue to rest,
And let that softness ripple down into the neck,
The shoulders,
The upper chest.
Place your attention at the center of your chest,
The space behind your heart.
And if there's tightness here,
Simply acknowledge it.
No need to push it away.
As you inhale,
Imagine breathing gently into this space.
And as you exhale,
Imagine creating a little more room around the heart.
Not opening it forcefully,
Just allowing space.
Stay with this for a few breaths.
Here's something to gently consider.
What is truly aligned with you does not require tension to stay.
Love that belongs in your life does not need to be managed,
Chased,
Or gripped tightly.
This doesn't mean things won't change,
But it does mean you don't have to brace against change to remain connected to what's meant for you.
And let that land slowly.
If it feels supportive,
Silently repeat,
I don't need to hold tightly to stay connected.
What is meant for me can breathe.
Pause here.
Now imagine the open palm of your hand again.
What you care about is still there,
But now there's space around it.
Notice how this feels compared to gripping.
Sometimes growth doesn't ask us to let go,
Only to stop squeezing.
To trust that expansion doesn't mean loss.
Take a slow breath in and a long breath out.
Let your body learn this feeling.
Before we close,
Bring awareness back to the room around you.
The sounds.
The temperature.
The support beneath you.
And notice if there's any shift,
Even a subtle one,
In your breath,
Your chest,
Your hands.
There's no need to hold onto this state.
You can return to it anytime.
A softening.
An open hand.
A reminder that effort is not required for love to remain.
Take one final nourishing breath.
And when you're ready,
Allow your eyes to open,
Bringing this sense of spaciousness with you.
And as you move back into your day,
Remember what is aligned can grow without being held tight.
Take good care.
